The Heisman has really become the last week of the season performance award.

Prior to yesterday’s Ohio st / Indiana game, Heisman odds were similar among Sayin, Mendoza and Pavia. They were between +170 to +200. Mendoza is now -3500, Sayin +50,000. Pavia who didn’t play yesterday is now at +1000.
If hypothetically, Sayin and Mendoza played a different teams yesterday and both lost, Pavia would now be -1000.
So I’m both scenario, Pavia didn’t play any game. But in first scenario he doesn’t win. The other he probably wins. He’s the same player with same stats in both scenario.
So it seems like the last week performance carries more weight than all the previous games of the season combined.

Jayden Daniels won it two years ago without playing in a conference championship game.
Travis Hunter won it last year without playing in a conference championship game.

Travis Hunter won it last year on a 9-3 team. Tebow had a top 5 Heisman season of all time on a 9-3 team.
Mendoza had the most passing tds and most overall tds in the nation despite not even being in the top 60 of passing attempts. Cignetti could have left him in to run up the score but unlike that overprivileged Catholic cult that he shares a state with he doesn’t need to leave starters in the 4th to make his team look elite.

Maybe it’s just what they do when there is not one major standout which there definitely isn’t this year
Its partly the media’s fault, they put the most buzz ever on Arch Manning and it didn’t pan out. Everyone else got forgotten
Pavia is the most fun just give it to him
