The problem that no helmet or device can solve is that nothing prevents the brain from moving inside the skull (and striking the inside of the skull) during collisions or sudden stops. The Guardian Cap may absorb some of the energy that the skull receives during a collision, but again, it doesn’t stop the main thing that causes concussions, which is the brain striking the inside of the skull.

I see players in that helmet and instantly think of Rick Moranis in the movie "Space Balls" where he plays "Dark Helmet".
