Edward Salcedo
Old Batting Practice video

Who knows. He's still got a long ways to go, but I'm glad he's a Brave!

Yeah, Salcedo has a lot of upside. And he better, because the Braves are seriously lacking in minor league infield talent.

I've not read much about Salcido. Is there a possibility that Prado moves to 3B when Chipper hangs it up?

You're right about that. Keeping him to play the left side of the infield with Yunel for years to come is a must due to the lack of depth we have at those positions.

But yeah, this could has the potential to be real good. And we got him for about half as much as the Indians were gonna pay him a year or two ago

I love the guy more than anything and he's pretty much the reason I became a Braves fan when I was young, but I REALLY hope he doesn't honor all 3 years left of his contract.

why not, he just had a bad year. his batting average 2 years ago was 370, i don't see a reason why he couldn't hit 320-330 this year as long as he stays healthy, which is one of his problems.

Prado definitely played solid defense at 3B, but he wasn't bad at 2B either. I like the way he projects better at 2nd than 3rd. Ultimately, I'd like our 3B to hit for more power than what Prado will. Prado should turn into a good defensive 2B who will put up a nice OBP. I hope he becomes our 2B for several years.

Salcido projects to potentially have nice power and abover avg defense. He's a SS that is growing into his 6'3" frame.

It's scary how much he looks like young Andruw Jones in the box.

Obviously the main key is just him staying healthy, which has been tough for him to do. When healthy, he is and will be a force at the plate until he retires.

That being said, he seemed to just completely lose it last year. Lost his plate disipline and couldn't make plays at the plate in simple soluitions such as just putting the ball into the outfield with a guy on 3rd, less than 2 outs. He seemed like he was trying to force things too much. If he relaxes and just worries about the simple things of baseball, he'll have improved rbi numbers and his batting average could be around .290 or .295

He still had a good OBP which was due to teams still being scared of him and pitching around him in some cases, but will that change this year? We'll see, but I have confidence in him

I'd rather Chipper sacrafice some of those singles for increased power. He's already stated that if he feels he's not playing at a high level he will walk away. I believe him. I also think he will rebound this year offensively... not so sure bout defensively though.

I loved Ron Gant when I was young. I was a dead pull hitter in little league and Gant was one in the Major Leagues

Gant was my favorite too. I'm really looking forward to seeing Jason Heyward play. 20 years old, 6'5 245 lbs. Kid is supposedly shredded.

Dale Murphy was the one that started the love affair for me. I was very upset when he was traded to the Phillies. But then came David Justice. Gant and Otis Nixon were a couple of the guys I like too. But of course as long as they played for the Braves I liked them. Until they went somewhere else.

Andruw on the other hand was one who I liked alot but kept falling below my expectations (along with everyone else's expectations)
