Fine.

If they break away from the NCAA, then booster can pay for tuition, books and meals for the “student athletes”.

Hell, why even require they be students at that point? Just make them play under the city name and a mascot name that isn’t tied to a university.

The SEC needs to be their own everything.

Add Clemson, FSU, UNC, Michigan, and Ohio State and break away from the NCAA.

They’d be enough schools for all the sports’ schedules and national championships.

Awesome.

Then don’t tie the athletic programs to schools at that point. All training rooms, weight rooms, facilities, and (if they’re going to attend class) tuition and books should 100% come from private donations.

Instead of LSU Tigers, they need to be called the Baton Rouge ______s instead. No ties to university required.

The SEC isn’t merging with whatever crap is left in the Big 12

I can’t see any reason why the SEC would want to “merge” with anyone. The SEC would have to be on equal footing with the ACC and big 12. It would make no business sense to join hands with lower tier conferences.
