You never answered my question in regards to UW's SOS in 2000?

USC would have been NC's in either way.
Auburn would have had a legitimate shot in that game.

They each count as one win/loss. Absurd? Not at all.
Wow.
A one point loss on the road in overtime and a 63 point loss at home also both count as one loss. Are they the same?

The idea that losing late should not be counted any differently that losing early is absurd.
Good teams, championship teams, get better as the season progresses. They do not get woodshedded in their final regular season game by decided underdogs.
And the human voting takes care of the component of the BCS that looks at streaks and when you lose and who is hot. If you lose late you will lose points/votes in the human polls. But if your SOS and computer components are strong enough, you may still be in the top 2.

They way USC played in that Orange bowl, nobody was going to hang with us. Our best overall performance of the year. Great catches while being tackled, one handed grabs deep down the middle, a suffocating rush defense....Auburn was spared by not going.

You can believe that if you want, but both our offense and our defense that year were top notch. It would have been an incredible game.

A loss on the road in overtime to Gardner-Webb is worse than a 63-point loss at home to Oklahoma.
All wins count as one win.
All losses count as one loss.

Sure they do.

Sorry this example doesn't measure up.
LSU lost in 3 ot in its 2nd to last game, followed by (I don't remember how many) teams ahead of them screwing the pooch.

You guys were good, but I was not overly impressed with how you played vs. VPI. You were one dropped TD pass by a Virginia Tech fullback away from possibly losing that game.

Did USC have any close games that year?

They didn't even score until way late in the fourth quarter. Tuberville's style of coaching is that once we have a big enough lead, just sit on the ball and run the clock out and don't score a lot again. We just sat on our lead and they scored when it was to late.

They had several close games that year, some against some REALLY shitty competition (i.e. UCLA and Stanford) along with close games against Oregon State and California(Can't really fault them for this one, as Cal was ranked in the top 5 when they played and finished ranked pretty high).

The same team, obviously. No need to throw another unnecessary variable in there.
Your original point is crap. The BCS has been wrong almost as often as it's been right. When a computer overrules common sense (rewarding Oklahoma and Nebraska immediately following arse whippings) then there's a problem.

Yes, actually our last game of the regular season vs Ucla was very close.

and your game against VPI early in the season.

So what are some of your ideas?

a 4 team playoff

I thought Virginia Tech had that game won while I was watching it...

common sense
If two teams have the same record, the one with the toughest schedule gets the nod. That is common sense.
If two teams have the same record, the one who lost earlier should get the nod even though the other team had a tougher schedule. That is not common sense; it is flawed and incomplete logic.
