If I had my say, I'd try and trade for Bourjos and be happy with anything he gives you at the plate, because his defense is so stellar it's unreal.I know their OF is getting old, but I can't see them putting Trout in a corner spot just to keep Bourjos around.

Then ink Swisher and let him lock down LF for the next 3-5 years. Prado to 3B.

This would be ideal, though I wouldn't want to see us go 5 years with Swisher, he's getting up there in age. 3 years with a 4th option would be ideal. He would fit perfectly in LF.

Hey guys, bookmark this thread. Me and Dan agree on something.

This is what I would do, and then let Prado walk after next year when one of our 3B prospects should be ready.

Obviously he would have to turn things around, but if you think Terdoslavich is ready next year and you can get value used for a CF, you can trade Prado after this year and go that route.

Even if he could somehow manage it, he's just way too large to play CF regularly. He'd destroy his body and shorten his career doing it.

I don't know how I would feel about Bourjos if we aren't able to find an upgrade at SS. If you send him and Pastornicky or Wilson out there that's 2 offensive black holes in the lineup every day.

THis dude will be like the next Josh Hamilton.

The braves should ink mccann long term and deal bethancourt/one arm for a solid hitter who can help the lineup immediately.

Gattis will probably make it to the bigs sometime in 2013 adn be a regular in 2014. Dude will hit a lot of HRS. Braves can either move him to OF or keep him at C if Mccann doesn't work out.

ETA: This is assuming the Braves get their shite together and move him to the OF and he does well against AA/AAA pitching.

I bet the Braves could package Bourn/Bethancourt/Navery Moore or Carlos Perez to the Pirates for Mccutchen. CF problem solved. Ink Mccann down for a good contract though.

Pastornicky or Wilson will not be the starting SS next year. I feel confident in saying that.

He played it some in ST, which makes me wonder if they are entertaining that as a possibility themselves.

Yeah, he's 31, so not young, but not old either. He'd be the best option in terms of cost vs. age, IMO. Because JHam is gonna cost a shite ton and is actually older anyhow.

A lot to ask for from a 25 year old playing who hasn't made it past A ball.

He's hit at every level, at least.

Doubt the Pirates would part with their Franchise player for that...

Yeah, he'd be 32 at the start of a contract with us. I'm not really a fan of any decent sized contract to a player past 35/36, as that's when a majority of position players really start to break down.

He will rake. I'd bet the braves can count on him being at least as good offensively as Ryan Klesko.

I think Bethancourt is not that great a hitter, and letting go of McCann is a mistake. Trade him while he has perceived value.

The pirates may not let go of mccutchen, but they are the fricking pirates. You never know.

Yeah no chance of that happening.

The Pirates aren't contending this year so Bourn is pretty much a non factor for them.

It then turns into a Bethancourt and one of those pitchers for McCutchen. No shot.

The Pirates do have Starling Marte who is a stud defensively at CF down in AAA. .817 career OPS in the minors with speed to burn.

Maybe not, but all I'm saying is that the Pirates have gone full retard many times before.

They need somebody with a "name" to play this year.

Bethancourt and maybe a better arm could possibly do it though. Like vizcaino or Delgado. But would it be worth it?

Mccutchen is either gonna flounder in the future like Maybin or flourish into a less powerful Matt Kemp.

They definitely have gone full retard a lot of times before. Although, they locked up McCutchen earlier this offseason to a deal that will have him there through 2018. Knowing that, I'm not sure there is anything we can wave in front of their face that would tempt them to trade him.

The braves do have some young hitters that if they figure it out, this lineup will be feared.

Freeman is gonna be solid, if not more than solid. I like his approach.

Heyward can be a star. if he figures his swing out and keeps improving he will be great.

mccann is gonna give you .270+ with 20+ HRS

I don't like Uggla, but he is the man there until something happens.

I think Simmons could blossom as a great SS with a pretty good bat.

I'm not high on any of the 3B prospects. I'm not as big a fan of Joe T as many others.

If the braves could just get a solid impact hitter by trading a few prospects and sign Swisher, then I'd be pumped.
