Just read it. Summed up his time in Atlanta well.

Just read both, and won't argue with either writer. They discuss off the field stuff, and I agree that it was probably time for him to go based on his antics
But these are professional baseball players. Locker room chemistry is important, but not near as important as it is in lower levels of baseball. A player isn't going to not play hard just because he doesn't like a teammate. There's no room in professional baseball to make sure everyone on a team gets along and is friendly. You have to win in professional baseball, and Yunel helps a team do that way more than Alex.
The Braves were 53-36 with Yunel on the team last year. They were 38-35 with Alex. And to me, that is what matters. Not if players get along off the field. This is the majors, where nothing but winning matters.

After the year Gonzo has had, I can't believe people are saying they want Yunel back. Yes, the team has somewhat struggled this year, but not because of Alex. The defense is incredible and offense has been one of the best in the lineup

The Braves are different though. Bobby was a big believer in good clubhouse guys.

I'm not going to disagree with you or anyone else that says anything about the Braves being a team that believes in that kind of stuff and Yunel didn't fit in with that
All I'm saying is I care about results on the field more than I do what goes on in the clubhouse, and Yunel is 10x better than that than Alex, and all numbers will show that including the most important, and thats win/loss records.

True.
Though Yunel wouldn't be worth anything if Troy Glaus broke his legs

I'm live from Turner Field tonight. I've got my chopping elbow ready.

You should come see Whitie, Swamp, and I. We are on the first row of the first base dugout. I am the A today.

Look for guys like Uggla and Freeman to be important in our line up this series. Although we rarely play the Blue Jays, I think they'll be familiar with us. Also, Minor and Beachy NEED to go deep into games. Huddy for that matter, too. This is probably our worst case scenario series, and I don't know what to expect honestly. Our line up doesn't have the holes it did (even though we found a way to win regularly) but it's still a work-in-progress.
All in all I really think this series will be the season so far in a nutshell. Can a shaky line up produce runs when the 3-4-5 pitchers are on the mound? We'll see.
