In his past six games he’s hit .391 (9-for-23) with two doubles, three homers, four walks and three strikeouts.
has a .381 career average and 1.170 OPS in 33 games at Minute Maid Park, with 16 doubles, seven homers and 28 RBIs.
I'm looking for big things from Chip the next three games

I told my brother that since so many of the parts are interchangeable and there exists a definite need to have Prado and Infante both on the field,
it could be a good idea to have kind of like a rolling blackout sub strategy getting everyone rested up through August and ready for a balls out stretch run thru Sept and the playoffs.
He basically said "not with the Phillies only 2 back" but so many of the pieces are so interchangeable that I don't think you're missing much each night. The wholesale sub offense looked pretty good Sunday.

I'd agree, Omar can play almost every position outside of Catcher and Pitcher. And that's not a terrible idea.
Dude's bat is also hot too.
I'd like to just give Glaus a few weeks off to get his legs back under him. If we can get him to play like he was in May, we would be in excellent shape heading into September
ETA: I figure we call up Freeman when Rosters expand and have a lineup looking like this:
2B- Prado
RF- Heyward
3B- Chipper
C- BMac
1B- Freeman
RF- Diaz/Hinske
CF- Ankiel
SS- Gonzalez
Pitcher
With Infante playing every position but C and Pitcher for giving players days off when needed.
And just use Glaus for PH situations and once he gets his legs back, using him to give Freeman occasional breaks.
That's just my .02 though.

that's weird, because that leaves his pitching arm in front, which makes it easier to get hit..
Medlen switch-hits, but when he got hit in his right arm he was actually batting right-handed.

Freeman is hitting good right now but I doubt we bring him up/put him on the 40 man this year
Posted on 8/9/10 at 4:58 pm to beaver
With the way glaus is batting, and him tearing up AAA, i think he does get called up
Posted on 8/9/10 at 5:02 pm to Hullabaloo
i really hope they put him on the 40-man roster. does being on the 40-man roster start his arbitration clock, or is it only once he's on the active roster.

asking the wrong dude, vampire. I don't even know how arbitration works

More good news for you Braves types. Astros suck even more against rookie or debuting pitchers. Been that way for years.

from Dave O'Brien:

Prado eligible to come off DL Monday. Says getting close, not sure if it'll be that day. He's hitting off tee, doing some throwing

I'm feeling J-Hey going deep tonight
it's been 31 games since his last longball
plus it's his 21st birthday
I just feel like I always see people homering on their b-day on Sportscenter so I'm gonna predict it happens tonight

Mike Minor made his college debut in Minute Maid Park in Vandy v. Baylor...earned a save
and Davey OB updated and said Prado actually comes off DL Sunday

Prado would be the one moved to first probably. He's played it and Omar has looked pretty good at second, better than he did at third for example.
Six good innings out of Minor would be nice. Definitely excited to see him. 90-93 is more than enough for a lefty with (supposedly) good breaking stuff.
