That's a little unfair, ya think?
Last year, he had an appendicitis and got hit in the face with a fastball.
Yeah. You're probably right. Heyward just got hyped so much that he almost seems like he's already 28. People forget he's still extremely young and has the tools to be an MVP. He's just gotta put it together. I agree with the FO not extending him just yet though. Wanna make sure he isn't another Francoeur who has all the tools but for some reason doesn't put it together.
Let's not forget he got hurt in '11 too and had a terrible year. I think it's a huge risk for the FO to extend him as of now.

My personal opinion is that he puts it all together this year and has a monster year at age 24. He will get a huge contract from someone sometime in 2015.

I think he has a pretty good season this year. I won't say monster year, but I'd say something to the tune of 23 HRs and 75-80 RBIs and 10 SB with a slash line of .270/.355/.460. That'll give him a WAR around 5 or just shy (4.8). That'll be enough for the Braves to extend him.
If he has a monster year (.270+/.355+/.500) with 30+ HRs then no way the Braves are keeping him. He'll test the open market as soon as he's a free agent.

I think he bats 265 with 30 bombs and 30 stolen bases
70-80 RBI
70-80 RBI

That's a tall task for a few reasons. He has the ability, but Frediot doesn't steal all that much and Heyward is probably not durable enough.

He's already had 2 excellent seasons.

He is not similar to Francoeur at all. They are pretty much opposites as baseball players outside of both playing very good defense.

Opening Day in a nutshell. Love it to death but it basically is a "I was there" social event for the Instagram crowd.

I think it will be something closer to
.260/.345/.470
25 HR's
15 Steals
65 RBI's (assuming he bats leadoff the entire year)

McCann just hit a bomb for the Yankees

I've said it before and I'll say it again. We are going to really miss McCann.

He's had 1 excellent season and 1 pretty good 3/4 season. He's had 1 dreadful season and 1 below average season. I'd say the jury is still out, though I'd bet on him succeeding than not.

I'm not saying he's a similar ball player to Francoeur. I'm saying they're similar in that both were hailed as possible mainstays in RF and both were deemed possible franchise players. Let's see if Heyward turns out to be a franchise player or a Francoeur.

Yeah but he wasn't worth the money

I agree but I think CB comes in after the All Star break and does fine

Yo choppers.
If you wouldn't mind, for those who are watching, how did my Astros get their 2 runs?
