FYI, the new MLB at Bat update has launched in the apple store. It went up 5 bucks. 19.99 for the season or 2.99 monthly. Looks like they updated it to allow you to stream audio of games from pc/mac as well phone now.

As long as Uggla is followed by the bottom of the lineup, his stats will never improve. Uggla needs to be near the top with the rest of the heavy hitters behind him.

I somewhat agree with you however he has a chance hitting in the 6 hole to show what he can do. He needs to come out hitting the ball in the spring to show that he could hit higher in the lineup.

if he's hitting in the 6th hole, he has Francisco, and then Laird (until McCann comes back) and then in normal circumstances, the pitcher. There should be no desire from the opposing pitcher to give him anything worth a damn pitch wise to let him hit it.

ETA: When McCann comes back, Uggla will most likely be dropped to 7th. I just don't see the need for a pitcher to throw him anything worthy to get to Juan or the pitcher.

You're going to eat a big plate of crow when Francrisco goes big fly 25 times this season.

Everyone on this team except maybe Simmons is going to K a lot. We should all be prepared for that, or face some major frustration at the amount of whiffing that will go on this year.

They will make up for it with a ton of HRs, doubles, and steals though. All 3 outfielders could (probably should) have 20-20 seasons.

#Braves didn't announce planned relievers for Friday, but Kimbrel and Gearrin are among those scheduled to pitch an inning.

I mean you've got to put some one in that spot. I believe line up protection is a bit overblown anyway. Let's say it's not though, who would you choose to put there? Dan has one of the lowest Outside the Zone swing %'s in the league. If pitchers do decide to pound outside the zone, then he should draw a ton of walks and hopefully be on base for every one of Jaun's 25 dingers.

Weak contact on pitches that are balls are worse than K's imo. Especially with people on base. Not to mention if Uggla consistently comes up with people on base, he should get some pitches to hit. Pitchers don't want to start loading the bases regardless whose up next.

If he hits 25+ bombs, I'd have no issue if he struck out 140 times. It's worth the trade off. That said, with Chris Johnson on board, it's highly unlikely.

Interesting map, but I don't understand why it shows Marlins' territory extended into south Georgia.
