Lulz, educate me.
Bonds absolutely lost mobility because he only cared about himself and setting HR records after he felt he hadn't gotten the credit he felt e deserved when has the all-around player.
Uggla is not Bonds. Also, I was talking about how any player in any sport can add muscle and actually be more explosive. It happens to sprinters all the time. Bond is a terrible example. There are tons of guys who add lean muscle and become better athletes. Assuming that increased muscle usually equals decreased mobility and quickness is beyond asinine. Maybe he actually lost fat and added lean muscle? This would not at all slow him or any other athlete down.
Yes there are examples of guys getting too big for their own good in the sports world but it is truly case by case on the effects that increased muscle can have.

Comparing a short, stocky power hitter to a tall, stocky power hitter is a terrible comparison but comparing him to an Olympic sprinter is not?
Of course people add mass and get more explosive. When it's a natural progression, and you go from a slinky HS kid to a pro athlete.

So you are conceding that what I said was right? After all, all I ever said is jokingly state him adding mass could limit his range.
Uggla is like 5'9, and listed at 207... already. If he really added 20 pounds of muscle to that frame, he's gonna be one stocky arse dude, and I doubt it's "lean muscle" if they are saying "his guns are even bigger now."

I'm putting together my mini plan schedule right now.

You didn't give a comparison you gave an example, and a pathetic one at that. Barry Bonds and Mark McGwire are in a category all by themselves. Likewise, I didn't offer a comparison, I offered an example.

Dude what are you talking about? There are tons of collegiate and pro athletes that add muscle which leads to more explosive ability. Happens ALL THE TIME.

Of course there are always examples of increased muscle mass = less mobility. Where you are flat out wrong is your assumption of knowing what this will mean for any athlete in general and specifically what it will mean for Uggla.

Not necessarily at all. Wouldn't be shocked if he went on some crazy weight program that allowed him to lose 10 lbs of fat and adding 30 lbs of muscle. Happens all the time. If he's added lean muscle, his arms could be the exact same diameter yet will look much, much bigger due to loss of fat and increased muscle and muscle definition.
You simply "doubting it's lean muscle" is absolutely absurd, irresponsible, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Give me examples of already stocky, 30-year-olds that added 20 pounds of muscle and were therefore more explosive.

Me unknowingly doubting it is is no different than you unknowingly believing it isn't.

I don't know if it is or isn't that's the problem with your logic. I have no idea what it means for him specifically only that I think it's beyond stupid to assume we know what it means for
him or anyone else.

First of all, using 30 as the set age is dumb. 30 is different in every sport. 30 year old running backs are old. 30 year old baseball players are in their prime. 30 year old sprinters are old. Etc, etc.
However, I still can come up with tons of examples matching your criteria for just baseball players alone right off the top of my head (ironically all are tied to performance enhancing drugs lulz):
Roger Clemens
Sammy Sosa
Miguel Tejada
Gary Sheffield
Eric Gagne (a hair under 30 but not by much)
Ken Caminiti (RIP)

So basically, Uggla roided?

Two pages of pointless debate over a player that looks exactly the same as last year to me.

this has nothing to do with anything, but my Dad recently gave me a footlocker that I used to have as a kid and inside it I found a baseball that was signed by David Justice, Mark Lemke, and Ron Gant inside it's little baseball holder and then next to it inside the card holder was a Mark Lemke signed baseball card. I was pretty pumped and now it's all on display in my office.
I'm pretty sure my grandfather got me those items when I was just a kid (9-10 years old) it was a pretty awesome find, if I do say so myself.

I wanna see Post Hitch Hanson.
Yeah, me too. Maybe this whole wreck/slight concussion story line was just a ploy to take the attention off his new motion while we all focus on who has gained 20 lbs of fat or muscle or lost 20 pounds and is now in the Best Shape of His Life (BSoL).

Speaking of which:
The other BMac is in BSoL!

For those of you in the fantasy league and don't often check the thread, draft order has been posted.

He doesn't look much different to me. In fact, he looks leaner and more in shape. But, what do I know? I'm a PosiBrave.

Yeah, he looks about the same. Hopefully he did cut fat and rebuild with muscle.

For those that care...there is an article by Jayson Stark today on ESPN about the Braves staying put this offseason. Good read.

Not bad, but we DID fire someone... Larry Parrish.
