I've been a huge Braves fan all my life.

I was sitting in the stands on a hot July day in 1968 when Hammerin' Hank hit his 500th home run (I was 5 years old at the time).

For the first time I can remember, I can't work up any excitement for the upcoming season. Dammit. Its been harder for me to watch annual mediocrity for years than it was to watch them totally suck in my younger days.

Oh well... maybe the mojo will come back to me once I start hearing the crack of the bat again.

Dave O'Brien running damage control on the unflattering picture of Chipper.

Does the facial hair look a little different to anyone else?

Here's the original for direct comparison:

He looks better in that top pic. I still don't think we get more than 100 out of the guy this year. I know I said 80 but I was a bit overzealous in that number.

This befuddles me. I am super excited about the upcoming season. We have an actual CF to start the season. We have two super young quality bats in Heyward and Freeman that I can't wait to watch progress. I'm super excited to watch our young pitchers mow down other teams superstars!

Me too. The most proud I have ever been as a Braves fan was during the NLDS against the Giants (despite the loss). The stadium was slammed, the loudest I have ever heard it. The Bud Ice (best bang for your buck) was flowing like water. Heinske hit that homer and one of my friends got knocked 3 rows in front of us. It was a great day to be a Braves fan.

WWBCD? Thats all that needs to be said. If you cant get excited for the season, then just think what would Bobby Cox want you to do.

I'm pretty pumped about this season myself. I'm hoping Freddie can take it to the next level offensively and J-Hey has a MVP level season

Agreed. Chip is a pro. He's not gonna not take care of himself the best way he knows how.

Hopefully he stays healthy for a good while this year.

David O'Brien @ajcbraves

Meanwhile, #Braves 2B Dan Uggla, who already had Popeye arms, has even larger guns now after adding about 20 lbs through heavier lifting.
