They are close. Obviously Prado is the better overall player (which is why we are demanding back a CF prospect). Like Swamp said, that'd be the real end game, I think. Locking up a young, cheap CF option, with upside, for 2013.
ETA: I like Prado enough. I think he's a solidly above-average everyday big. I don't think he's a great player, but he's not a liability by any means.

He pissed me off last year, but he was hurt.
I never liked calling him MVPrado, so I think a lot my stuff on him was overreacting to people who I thought overvalued him.
Regardless, he's a good player, and I like having him. I just hope we don't pay him mega bucks.

I can not see this happening at all. I don't even think we offer him a contract after his arbitration years are over. With our young guys coming up at the 3B position, I don't think there will be a spot for him on the team.

You are probably right.
While we haven't made any key additions yet, I'm happy we've dumped dead weight in Lowe, McLouth and AGon (and Schafer during the season).

Definitely. I'm still surprised we're planning on going into the season with Pasty although it's not like anything out there is going to provide us even the slightest bit of offense. He's going to be interesting to watch.
Hopefully he can just provide average defense.
