Surely J-Hey can right the ship. No one has a rookie year like he did as a 20 year old by some fluke.

You would think. He obviously has holes in his swing, but too much talent and plate discipline to not be able to work the kinks out. I just hope his arse is out there everyday working hard.

My apologies, I figured we would get him this year, and since LF is available. He would have gone there.
Why do we have to wait a year? Under contract in Cuba?
And j hey will come around. No doubt.

you been sippin on that whiskey tonight brah?
We wouldn't have to wait a year. He would play LF this year, and then move to center in 2013.

were expecting to increase payroll for next year
I read it was going to be a few million bucks less than 2011.

That's what I thought fool!
The way you worded it, I thought maybe because it's Cuba and they are fricked up it was like the chapman situation.

Incorrect. Frank has stated numerous times payroll will increase, although it hasn't said by exactly how much.

interesting. i read a few weeks ago that low attendance figures would force them to decrease their payroll by 3-4 mil. Wren saying that the payroll will increase means they're probably going to sign some guys to healthier contracts. SS is key for ATL. and they really need to dump JJ and his salary for a bat.

God, I'd love to take the risk on Yoennis.

It makes sense in a lot of ways... fills the LF void(assuming we're wanting to move Prado) for this year, and gives us a long-term answer at CF (if he pans out, of course).

Exactly, and it's not like it would ruin this team forever financially if it didn't work out. It's not some $100M dollar deal or anything. $30-35M over 6 years or so for a guy that can come in and play instantly.
Risk? Sure, but one that could pay off in massive ways for this team.

We are gonna trade JJ for a pitcher. I just know it
What about giving Willie Mo P a shot at LF?
He's got major pop in that bat of his.

So the general consensus seems to be that we won't be re-signing Bourne. Any particular reason why? Would he really demand a boat load of money? I think we could re-sign him next year. I REALLY don't see Chipper coming back after this up coming season. We will have a good chunk of change for our payroll next season. So MAYBE we could just focus on re-signing Bourne, and then IF we signed Yoe, we could keep him in left.

Sup Hart.
I think the biggest issue with Bourn is he's a Boras client so they will be hesitant to want to deal with him.

Paul Clemens will win the AL Cy Young in 2013.

Frank has pretty much said, without saying, that Bourn won't be back. I'm sure we'll make an offer if we don't end up trading for someone who can play center, but we aren't going to pay what it costs to keep him.

I don't think Paul and his 1.44 career WHIP with only a 7.6 K/9 is going to get him the Cy in 13. Maybe 2014, though.
