Our lack of willingness to move JJ for anything less than an absolute stud bothers me.
I'm not saying you take a garbage player for him... but they need to let him go.

I'd rather hang on to him than bring in a player who won't be much better than Prado
You have to get a legit bat if you want to move him at this point. You can't take mediocre.
And we'll move him for less than a stud. We would have packaged a deal around Lorenzo Cain, who is unproven at the major league level. The right deal will show up, hopefully.

Agreed. I really wish we would have dealt him at the halfway point this past season.
Then again you know what they say about hindsight

Yeah I was definitely in the Trade JJ at the All Star Break camp.

It's pretty much impossible to trade a pitcher with a 1.80 ERA at the all star break when your team is in contention.
Obviously, that is when his value was at it's max, but it was supposed to be at a high point this offseason too, which is when I have said we should trade him for the last couple years. You couldn't forsee his injury.

Phils are getting even older, and the Marlins are trying to pick up a guy who won't give a frick the second the ink dries (Reyes) and a 31 (34) year old power hitter who has seen his production decline the last two seasons.
I wouldn't be too concerned.

Makes sense
I mean, we've been attempting to shed payroll this offseason and were expecting to increase payroll for next year so where is that money gonna go?
Potentially to this guy, although I would imagine it's a longshot

First I'm hearing of this Yoennis guy.
What makes him so special?
(on my phone so I don't feel like searching)

Nice. Draft pick that refused to sign?
Posted on 11/17/11 at 12:22 am to Hullabaloo
He's from Cuba
He's not even an eligible free agent yet. He has to apply and get accepted. Should happen in the next few weeks.

True, but he's a true CF. Would move there next year once Bourn is gone.
