Braves are extremely high on Cain, much higher than I am.

But if we could get Myers in exchange for Jurrjens, it would be trade rape.

Definitely.

It would be nice to have that solid presence in center that we've lacked. It's hard to complain about a potential 20/20 guy that could hit .300 and plays plus defense.

We've been trying to get Cain for like 3 years now.

A SIGN OF THINGS TO COME.

Those talks stalled when the Braves, after offering to include infielder Martin Prado, asked the Royals to surrender minor-league outfielders Lorenzo Cain and Wil Myers.

The Royals are interested in Jurrjens and appear willing to deal Cain, whose path to the big leagues is blocked by a returning trio of Alex Gordon, Melky Cabrera and Jeff Francoeur.

The Phils have agreed to sign Jim Thome. Thome has played 28 innings and 1 pitch in the field since he left Philly.

I will be shocked if Wren is able to coax Myers out of Dayton.

I like Cain and all, but think JJ is worth more than a 26 year old prospect.

A lot of teams are scared off by his xFIP, injuries, and decreased velocity. We should have traded him in July, but I'd go ahead and get what I could for him now. GMs like Moore love that shiny low ERA.

Agreed.

Even with Cain being 26, you still get 6 years out of him compared to 2 more with JJ

Yes, I understand that, but still this is a guy that is in his prime RIGHT NOW. Not much room to grow and he couldn't beat out Melky or Frenchy?

I'm not buying the can't beat out Melky and Frenchy thing

From everything I see, there's nothing to say this guy isn't major league ready

JJ and Prado for Cain, Cheslor Cuthbert, Brett Eibner, and Jake Odorizzi

that's the trade I'm making without Myers

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports says the Braves would be open to trading anyone for the right price, following their late season collapse. Rosenthal also notes that Atlanta tried to acquire Lorenzo Cain from both the Brewers and Royals last offseason, offering up Brandon Beachy. They also tried for a swap of Jair Jurrjens and Brett Lawrie with Milwaukee, but were unsuccessful.

Jurrjens will be dealt, I have a feeling the return will be better than we expect.

Yeah, he's gone for sure. I'm looking forward to seeing what we get out of him
