Good for him. I like the actions this team has made.

So let's play the "What if" game.
If the Braves come out really struggling next season and say, finish the first half under .500, if Fredi fired middle of the year or do they give him a full year to get it right?
Barring something crazy that no one would have been able to overcome, I truly believe Fredi has to make the playoffs to save his job next season.

I have him on a short leash to be honest.

When are we going to discuss my services as hitting coach?
I hate solo homeruns FWIW.

We need to make it to the playoffs AND make it to the NLCS next year for Fredi to keep his job, IMO.

so if the Braves are 43-44 in mid July they're gonna fire him?

Source: Greg Walker, Braves to talk
By Bruce Levine
ESPNChicago.com
Archive Former Chicago White Sox hitting coach Greg Walker will interview for vacancies in the same role with the Atlanta Braves and the San Diego Padres during the next week, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
More From ESPNChicago.com
Can't get enough White Sox information? ESPNChicago.com has all the latest from the South Side. Blog
Walker resigned his position with the White Sox at the end of the 2010 season.
The 52-year-old Georgia native was the White Sox hitting coach for 8½ seasons after being promoted from Triple-A Charlotte in May 2003. Walker was the hitting coach in Charlotte from 2002 until he was promoted.
Walker was under fire the last two seasons due to season-long hitting slumps for Gordon Beckham and the struggles of Alex Rios and Adam Dunn in 2011.
Walker played nine seasons (1982-90) with the White Sox and part of one year (1990) with the Baltimore Orioles, hitting .260 with 113 home runs and 444 RBIs.
The White Sox have yet to replace Walker.
I really hope we don't hire Walker. There has to be a better hitting coach out there.

God no kidding...
Turrible hire if we get him.

tpaul4 @ajcbraves any chance that a Lowe and Michael Young deal could be feasible?
Bravetards ftw.

There has some been some talk that the Royals are interested in Beachy, Minor, and Jurrjens and may be willing to take on all of Lowe's 2012 salary to get one of them.

Beachy, Minor, Jurrjens, Lowe for Frenchy, Melky, Jesse, and George Brett
