I expect our bats to be better this year.

Uggla hit .233/36hr/82rbi = .260/33/90-100
Heyward was .227/14/42 = .250-.260/20/75-80
MAC was .270/24/71 I expect .290/24/80-90
Prado was .260/13/57 and I expect .300/16/70-80

Chipper actually had a descent year for a 39 yr old: .275/18/70. I figure he'll be near the same or a tad below this year.

Freeman was .282/21/76 and I actually expect a soph slump of .250/18/70

Bourn will be Bourn = .280 and he'll score 90-100 runs.

That leaves us with the rookie SS and the bench.

Our bats will be fine this year.

If we get good pitching for 6 months we'll make the playoffs.

Which we should. We traded away DLowe and have a bunch of young arms ready. Plus Medlen is healthy again.

I agree with everything you said except for Prado hitting .300 and Freeman dropping to .250. I think pitchers have figured out how to play Prado's aggressiveness against himself (see Jeff Francoeur). I don't see Freeman dropping off because he was consistent all year other than April and September.

Meh, there are no stats to really back this up. He struck out less than ever and his contact percentages stayed about par for him. His swing percentages also stayed the same so he really wasn't chasing anything he hasn't before.

There are only two stats that are dramatically different compared to the rest of his career. His BABIP was .266, compared to .335 in 2010, .331 in 2009, and .357 in 2008. Also his LD% decreased from around 20% to 14%. These numbers more or less tell me he was just off last year, probably due to his injury. Every stat possible out there shows no sign of last year reoccurring and he should get back to his usual self. I'd be completely shocked if he doesn't hit at least .290.

It's amazing to me how negative you are. Seriously.

Yeah, a guy who has a .293 career avg in the majors as well as a .298 career avg in the minors has a bad year due to injury and completely sucks now.

You tard it up with the best of them at times.

Lulz, I was just pointing to your undying affection for Martin, but hey, go for the full on personal attack if it makes you feel better.

I have done nothing but state facts. Period.

There is not a single stat that gives me, or anyone, any reason to believe that he won't return to his normal self this year. Heck, all anyone needs to do is compare his career BABIP to last year's. But hey, what do I know?

Guess we will see. But I have a strong feeling a lot of people will be calling me right this year.

Whitie and I have crunched the numbers and we have determined that there is no way the Braves do not win at least 173 games this season.
