Paul Maholm LHP 6-10, 3.26 ERA

Maholm allowed five runs on 10 hits Friday in a loss to the Cardinals. It was the highest number of hits he's allowed all season and the most runs since June 2.

vs

Jair Jurrjens RHP 12-3, 2.44 ERA

Hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park got the best of Jurrjens when he faced Cincinnati on Friday. In six innings, he gave up four earned on three homers, including a shot in the sixth that he called "one of the cheapest ones I ever gave up."

Lineup:
McLouth 8
Prado 7
Freeman 3
Uggla 4
Ross 2
Ramirez 9
Lugo 5
Gonzalez 6
Jurrjens 1

Topic of the day:
Was he safe?

Nope. Ump should be suspended not just for that call, but for being a giant douchebag throughout the game as well.

Honestly.., I really don't see a definitive spot where I can say for sure he tagged him. I'm sure there's pictures by now that look like he may have been tagged.. but that can still be an illusion depending on the angle.

I saw one good replay on ESPN where it looked like he swiped and missed.

if fredi got ejected, you know something was up. dude wouldn't yell at his wife if he walked in on her banging another man.

He'd probably analyze the situation and call Jordan Schafer because he believes he'd do a better job.

Did I hear the announcers right when they said that was only the second time this year he'd been tossed?

Update on the McCann injury

quote:

McCann to go on 15-disabled list

Braves catcher Brian McCann left Tuesday’s game against the Pirates with a strained left oblique. He will be placed on the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday.

The Braves said they will announce the corresponding roster move on Wednesday. Following the game, Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said he expected J.C. Boscan to be called up from Triple-A Gwinnett.

“Hopefully it is not a bad oblique,” Gonzalez said. “There are different grades of it and hopefully we can get him back in 15-20 days. That’s a big bat out of the lineup.”

Gonzalez said David Ross, who caught nine innings of the 19-inning contest that began Tuesday, will catch Wednesday’s game against the Pirates.

McCann was injured on a throw to second base on a steal attempt in the 10th inning. The throw sailed into center field. After calling trainers out, McCann tried one throw back to the pitcher but quickly motioned that he could not continue. Ross entered the game.

Boscan is hitting .194 in 53 games with the G-Braves this season. He has six doubles and eight RBIs.

Yeah he got ejected in like the first week of the season

My gf came over around the 11th inning an I told her I'd watch a movie w her after :lol; that didn't happen

Anyways that was one of the worst all around performances I've ever seen from an ump...maybe he should sit a few out

Will this be the final piece used to get instant replay expanded in baseball?

So, with McCann being out, do you see us pushing to get a middle of the order bat more?
