Wouldn't the Yankees be in the market for someone like Lowe? Colon got absolutely lit up by the Jays last night.

15 mil for Lowe this year and next.
i only see it as a Hampton type move where we pay some (or most) of it. mainly most of it.
is Lowe the only Boras client we have?

That's our hope... they or the Sox get desperate.
Yanks pitching has overachieved to date (Colon and Garcia pitching like their primes... Burnett rebounded well... C.C. is C.C.).
Sox have injury issues up and down their rotation.
But they have generally saavy front offices... and the Yanks apparently feel like they'll never go after a Braves pitcher again after we fleeced them on the Javy deal.
Also, Jon Heyman wrote an article saying the Rangers could be another team interested in Lowe... just dunno what they'd give us.

Hanson and Jurrjens are Boras clients.

I remember getting into it with Drew about that deal. He said it was bad for US.. I politely told him he'd lost his mind and Vazquez would never have another year like he did with ATL.

I remember at the time I wanted to keep Javy, but couldn't argue with nabbing a top prospect... if only Melky Cabrera last year had played like Melky this year... we probably would have resigned him and would be in great shape right now.

Not going to get much for Lowe. Due to him being owed another 20 mill

Yeah on pace for 19 HRs, 92 RBI, while hitting .297
Ted Turner, where free agent hitters come to die apparently.

He's gonna go 20/20 and hit .300ish. Could hit leadoff and play CF for us...fricker.

How could he possibly be more inspired to play in KC over ATL?
Assuming work ethic and personal dedication has anything to do with his new found success.

We've been willing to listen to offers for Lowe for 2 years now
And it won't take much at all. Give us a mid tier prospect and he's gone. Obviously the price goes up the more money we would have to send the other teams way to cover some of his contract

I think he was just fat and out of shape last year.. no idea why.
Having a shitty year probably made him realize he wasn't maximizing his potential, so he actually worked hard this offseason.

Him and Frenchy both. I don't understand it.

I don't really miss Frenchy. The last thing this team needs is another free swinging low OBP guy.

Yea I wouldn't want him back either but he is also more productive this year in KC.

Francoeur homered in three straight games to start the month of May. Since then? .237/.282/.349
