Not a Braves fan, but I am hearing rumors the Braves have traded for Josh Willingham and will be announced today. Any Bravos heard this?
ETA: May already be in this thread. I'm not searching.

If he can stay healthy he can put up good HR and RBI numbers at a good value. Seems like a decent fit for the Braves. Again, I'm not a Braves fan, so just an outsiders perspective.

I think this terrible trade would be terrible.

Don't get me wrong; I love Willingham.
I'm just not sure the fit here.
He's average, at best, in the OF. He does walk a shite ton... but he's more of a power hitter/walker than an OBP/speed guy. And I doubt we're going to rock him in the leadoff spot...
This was the move I wanted us to make LAST year to give us some extra pop. But this year... I just don't see the fit. But I suppose it's no different than adding a guy like Ludwick, which is what I expected, and he's probably cheaper.

He has no position to play
He's a nice bench bat but that's about it

Yea I agree and you shouldn't have to pay that much for a bench bat when we have enough already.

Can't wait to add another platoon outfielder.

As long as we didn't pay something premium, I'm totally fine with this.
I just hope we didn't give up something good* for Wuertz/Willingham.
*I think it's fairly obvious that means no big time prospects dealt.

FWIW, my source could be wrong, but probably isn't. It was texted to me unsolicited to let me know.

Too bad Rasmus isn't available this year.

I hope your source is wrong. I dont hate Willingham. I would just hope if we made a move it would be to fill a more obvious hole like CF and leadoff hitter. Willingham would be a solid guy to play left though while Chipper is out.

Yeah we're not going to give up much, and that's a good thing.
But I don't want to make a move just for the sake of making a move like we did last year, either.
If we're going to make a move, actually make a move that will impact this team and put us over the hump. I don't care if that's Bourn or CoCo or Bourjos. Anyone that can hit at the top of the lineup and bring the one thing this team lacks, and that's speed.
The RH reliever will be nice, even though I'm not his biggest fan.

The one thing Willingham does bring is that he walks a ton. I'd hope that when he plays he hits 2nd (well Jhey should be hitting second, but whatever)... since they are probably going to stick with Schafe-dawg leading off.
We need someone up there to get on base.

Parrish says OBP is overrated. HIT A SOLO HOMER.

He very well could hit 2 hole these next 3 weeks while he's a regular starter
Schafer
Willingham
Prado
Mac
Uggla
Freeman
Heyward
Gonzo
Obviously, can be mixed match a lot
But as I said, I just don't see the point of the move, if it turns out to be true.
