People who are destroying the braves really have no clue how baseball works.

Gomez got smoked earlier in the season, he can't style on a HR in return?

there is difference between styling a HR and screaming at the pitcher the entire time your rounding the bases.

We are getting hammered by a lot of the national media today. frick it, though. I'm glad McCann did what he did.

Gomez went way overboard with it, it would have been embarrassing had the braves just stood there like some little bitch slapdicks and watched him show them up the way he did.

I agree that Gomez went overboard. But McCann should have at least let him reach home plate and then jawed at him.

In my opinion, It would have been very demoralizing to have just stood around while he jawed at Maholm like that. By Mccann standing up to him like he did it does solidify a team together as a group in protecting each other. It did not end up for us being able to hit last night but I 100% believe McCann needed to do what he did.

meh, maybe so.

I thought it was funny and ballsy he met him in the baseline though. Like I said, the braves had to do something, you dont stand there and do nothing when someone acts the way Gomez did.

that was far more than just showing up the pitcher.

I can agree with that, but thank God he didn't. That will be a permanent piece of highlight footage forever. Never have we seen this happen and I for one am glad it did happen.

oh I def agree.

I'm not a big proponent of confrontation and fights but hell, when someone shows you up like that, you really don't have a choice. Show your nuts or tuck your tail like a bitch. those are your options.

Maholm looked like a scared bitch though.

I'm a Braves fan. I would have preferred if they just laughed at Gomez acting like a fool. Instead they came down to his level in my opinion.

Also after Gomez's first ridiculous swing, I don't know why Malholm gave him anything whatsoever to hit. Dude would have swung at anything.

What are they saying?

What I want to know is who needs more back up before he does something? Chris Johnson and his ump? Or Reed Johnson and the rest of the team.

Gomez looked like a tweaking crazy person with those eyes. I would have been scared too. I really mean it. He looked like he wanted to murder someone.

yea, he looked like a roided up gorilla and he would have killed Paul. He gets a pass for being a pitcher

At least Brian and Freddie showed some nuts.

Did anyone throw a punch? I thought I read someone did but didnt see it on the replay on the braves site.

Braves aren't getting hammered if the Fernandez event didn't happen

I disagree. I thought Maholm just stared at him like he was insane. I thought Malholm looked calm as could be. Didn't look scared at all. More like a mature man looking at a kid throwing a temper tantrum.

Didn't both Fernandez and Gomez both apologize? This admits wrong IMO. Don't see what the big issue is.

What Gomez did was much crazier than Fernandez. I'll give Fernandez a pass. He's a young buck. Gomez is just crazy. He should know better. Just like CJ should have known better vs the fish.

The Fernandez thing was stupid.

THis was a little more understandable, at least.
