We got some hard stuff a few hours ago in Birmingham. Shaking the trees and such. Probably hitting ATL about now.

What's the latest they'll try to start it? Radar looks like 11 is when it should die down

I don't think it's looking good

Very good article.

No team in baseball has gotten less production than the Braves out of center field or third base.

Also points out the extreme stupidity of batting BJ leadoff.

Not a lot of options though, outside of maybe trying out Bonifacio or Peraza in center and Gosselin or Kubitza at third.

Also, move Heyward back to leadoff.

Anyone believe this?

The Braves were close to pulling off a major deadline deal that would have sent center fielder B.J. Upton and a starter (which could have been either Mike Minor or Ervin Santana) to an unidentified club and for an unidentified return. The nature of the hypothetical return has not been revealed, but Rosenthal says that Atlanta ultimately felt it was not receiving sufficient value in return. Ultimately, the conception of the move was intended more to shake up the roster and clubhouse (in addition, no doubt, to shedding Upton’s future obligations), and Rosenthal says that a deal of that type could be revisited in the offseason.

Have to think the Braves were getting another bad contract back in that deal. BJ and Minor/Santana for a AAAA player would be a win if they were shedding BJ's salary.

ESPN picked up tomorrow's game. On any other Saturday night, they probably would have already PPD the game.

Yeah, I read that earlier today and thought she pretty much spelled things out pretty well.

I really hope we see Peraza trying CF at the beginning of next season or this offseason, and see Kubitza get a decent shot at 3B next season. Those two could fix our major black holes.

And yeah, if we weren't sending some one Julio or Wood we'd have to be dumb as hell not to do that deal without some bad contract coming back our way.
