I really am interested to see the market on Bourn. A guy like him getting paid huge would be somewhat unprecedented. But all it takes is one team...

I think he'll get what he will be searching for.

As you said, power is money. And you have a speed guy that is probably going to hit 10+ homers this year. Even though he will never replicate those numbers again.

Jose Reyes is the best recent comparison, though he was a bit better over his career offensively and has more pop, though much worse defensively. Given that Reyes got over 17 mil a year, I think we can safely say Bourn will net at least 13ish if he keeps his numbers up all year.

We need to win these next 3 games.

Unfortunately this who we're sending to the bump the next 3 games:

Jurrjens
Delgado
Minor ( )

That's who I was thinking, but even he had posted considerably better numbers to date. Career OPS+ of 106 (not great, but still 15 points higher than Bourn's). And he has flashed 20-HR power.

Also, it's harder to find a playable SS than a playable CF, IMO. Reyes may not be great defensively, but he's not incompetent.

You guys are probably right, but I just think it's interesting. If he gets 13-15 mil, it wouldn't surprise me. But if he only gets 7-9, that wouldn't terribly shock me either.

Not saying he will win but you realize he beat Strausburg last time out right? Nevermind the fact he raised his 6+ ERA in the win

David O'Brien

Chipper Jones was just named to NL All-Star team.

Jones will be replacing Matt Kemp's spot on the NL roster.

Heyward, Prado, and Bourn all deserve it more than Harper, but Harper is now going to end up being the last guy voted in.
