Give up. The Lobster rarely ever makes sense. He will also probably tell you he is never wrong.

Yeah, it should be irrelevant that the best defensive catcher of all time is also pretty good at the plate. Good call.

And that 'immeasurable' stuff is actually measurable by a tool called intuition. His exceptional ability to handle pitchers, call games, lead a clubhouse, hit in the clutch ect are things that intuitive people can and do measure.

batting average is a horrible way to measure offensive performance. any argument based around it should be ignored immediately

the cardinals pitchers are good because fricking all of them throw 95. not because they have an omniscient god catching

his ability to 'lead a clubhouse' should not factor in calling him the best of all time

hitting in the clutch isn't a skill

Haha. I like how dumb you are, it's amusing.

He's the best defensive catcher of all time who also hit's over .300. That means something.

Oh, and his OBP and all those other acronyms for offensive stats are impressive and reflective of a guy who hits over .300

ETA: Boners who say 'batting average doesn't mean anything' have watched moneyball too many times. Yeah, we all get it, there are other stats that are very insightful, but this trend to disregard batting average is out of control.
