The manager DID NOT lose last night's game.
Go back and watch the 8th and 9th innings.
#1 That bloop hit that tied up the game with 2 outs in the 8th....
#2 The 2 doubles that were barely inside the lines on the 9th inning....
And if you want to nitpick -
The Braves had other chances to score earlier in the game that they couldn't come through on.
And yes, Acuna should have hustled and gotten a double. We probably get 1 more run....
Don't be foolish and blame the manager. He played his best cards.
The only thing he probably could have done differently was - he could have went another inning with Fried.... but if Martin hadn't gotten hurt... what if what if what if
And... go look at some of the marginal level players we put in the game last night because.... that's what we have?
Cervelli and Ortega. Injuries.... these 2 guys shouldn't even be on the roster. But - these are the players Snitker has at his disposal.

It would be an accomplishment if they did.
Flaherty hasn't given up 4 runs in a start since July 2nd.
In the 16 since he's given up 3 twice, 2 twice, and 1 or none in 12 averaging 7 innings per start.

Interesting... Listening to StL sports talk radio and apparently Shildt didn't want to intentionally walk Swanson in the 8th in order to keep Melancon in the game.
They felt they could get to him, gambled and won.
