Well, won’t have too much heartburn letting someone else over pay Fried like an ace next year. Because he is certainly not one. Too many times he’s come up small when needed the most.
He had a career 4.57 postseason ERA coming into tonight, so it will probably be up over 5 now. He definitely ain't it as a postseason ace. Between that and the forearm tightness two years running we are definitely better off letting him walk at the money it will take to keep him.

Feels like if we don’t get runs this inning our odds drop from slim to none

How do you square the obviously shot approach with us leading the league on barrels and hard hit percentage?
Open to s change before just worried AA will chaull it up as bad luck

Tough outing for Fried. Padres look like a complete ball club.
Musgrove dealing. Uphill battle to say the least but it ain't over.

I'm concerned that he will likely have his end of season press conference and harp on the injuries (which did play a role this season), but will also say the reason we got swept this series is because we were tired.
Meanwhile the Mets are about to sweep Milwaukee and AA's talking points the last two end of season press conferences has been "we were resting for too long".

Oh it’s over. This team has no life, and I don’t blame them.

Hopefully someone shows that to Olson/Seitzer

You’re poo-poo-ing that a bit. AA deserves some criticism, but those injuries were devastating. We really have no business still playing baseball in October.

No I'm not.
They played a role. But why did every hitter not named Ozuna (including Riley and Acuna when they were healthy) have an OPS under .800?
Something was off before the injuries.

Oh man. He was grabbing at his side on his way off the mound.
ETA: It's his elbow. That looks really bad for Musgrove.

Matt Olson's Brave's career in a nutshell"
2 months cold, a month and a half of scorching hot MVP-caliber baseball, 1 cold month, 1 month of good baseball, offseason.
It will always lead to solid-to-great numbers, but it's just too streaky to be trustworthy.

No doubt. I don’t think this team wasn’t wining a WS this year even without the injuries. Something seemed “off” from the jump. But he did piece meal a team together that made it to the playoffs, limping as they were. I mean, look at tonight’s lineup. And Ozzie is batting RH against RHP. This team was doomed.
I think they underestimated the value that Wash and EY gave us, though I’m not sure that’s something that’s easily replaceable. I think Seitzer sucks and has to go. And we have to upgrade at SS as the main off-season priority. BUT, he did pull 2 top-10 Cy Young finishers (1 the likely winner) out of his arse too.

Maybe you don’t pay attention to exit velocity but they are smacking him around.

Like I said, the Sale move was one of the best trade rapes in baseball.
But again, that appears to be an anomaly compared to the norm with him. The Olson move would've been solid if not for the hole he was trying to fill.
For as great as the Sale move was, the Murphy move was just as bad, if not worse, considering it made us worse, older and more expensive at catcher and used up all of our offseason capital that could've been otherwise used to re-sign Dansby on the hometown discount that he said he would take (Dansby about to win his third straight gold glove) or make a move at SS after Dansby walked. Instead, AA really tried to sell us on Arcia being a starting caliber SS.
The Kelenic move was low risk, but clearly the kid isn't an everyday OF and then AA spent most of this offseason trying to member berry us to death by bringing in Soler (on a tough contract), Rosario, Matzek, Duvall and Jackson at different points this season.

That's 4(?) postseason homers for Soler as a Brave, right?
He hit 2 or 3 in the World Series?
