I still don't think Tommy has adjusted to his new 88 MPH fastball

I don't understand how he has dropped so much in velocity. Some guys will take a bit off to improve command, but that's usually like 2 or 3 MPH. He has dropped 5 or 6 off his fastball though.

It's definitely not a great sign
These are his average fastball velocities over the last three years.
2010 - 92.7
2011 - 91.1
2012 - 89.8
Dropped significantly each year.

Getting some Aubie love in the broadcast today

The fact that his velocity has decreased while he continues to struggle with efficiency is a big problem.
Also, Chizik has enough money to hire someone to dress him. He needs to make that investment.

I once thought he would get a long term deal here. Now, not so much.
Although you still have him for three years after this year.

I think the only two who will definitely get long term deals are Minor and Beachy. Hanson still has time to figure it out, but right now I get the impression that he is still out there throwing instead of pitching.
