The 2nd team in CFB OT should ALWAYS go for 2…

That’s the whole point of going 2nd. To know what you need to do. Go win the game you imbeciles.
What possible logic could a coach have for not trying to win the game on one play? It’s easier to stop a team 4 times than score once? You still have to score. And now in the new OT rules you have to go for 2 the next OT anyway.
ESPECIALLY if you’re an underdog.

I forgave it for the first few years of the new rule, but now there really is no excuse.
There's enough data to prove it's the correct play.
However, we as fans are exposed to a lot more games like this. A head coach may see one or two close games a year to practice and witness good clock management.
We see it multiple times each each. Practice isn't the same.

Yeah...you have to make two plays to win the game in 2nd OT after tds. Stop them, convert...worse your 2pt attempt often becomes a necessary conversion just to stay in the game.
After the first OT, you're just going backwards and creating a bigger hill to climb if you didn't go for two after the first OT Td.

I think I agree if they are just gonna make you the next time around.

Make the teams go for two in the very first OT.
Now, that's adding excitement to the end of the game that should not be prolonged any longer than necessary.
Yes, multiple OTs will occur after forcing 2 points in the first OT, but I think it would reduce multiple OTs.

Especially if you are the underdog and on the road

Dude the Arizona coach last night sent the kicking team out for the PAT after the score in the second OT and had to use a TO. And you think he would
Know when to go for 2?
Not a good week for coaches across college football, and these dudes get paid alot if money, you would think they would at least know the rules.

I completely agree with this.
Saban probably loses to Harskin in 2021 if Haskins were smart enough to have done that.
Of course, had Herbert actually done the right thing and we actually won that Iron Bowl, then Auburn would probably still currently be stuck with Harmon.
Now that I think about it, I think Hobart knew he would not be able to skip town with his millions as easily as he did, so I think that he not only refused to go for two in that OT, but, I now think he actually TOLD Tank to run out of bounds in regulation.
Oh yea, frick HARBINSON....
