Is McCord still banned from being there?

Dang
Even Chicken let me back. Maybe if Gary emailed them.

masters execs are demanding ... the original chairman/co-founder, cliff roberts, would meet every year with cbs to "critique" their broadcast ... he required a plate full of oreos for the meeting, and he'd open the cookie and scrape off the filling before eating the cookie part while he handed out a list of complaints of the broadcast ... the meetings never lasted less than a half a day ...

Some bikinis wax and bunkers being like beach sand comment

Gary made two references while commentating at The Masters that didn't sit well with ruling Augusta National committee. He referred to the mass of spectators as a "mob" and he likened the slickness of the fairways and greens to that of having been "bikini waxed". Source(s): Long time pro.

referred to the greens as being "bikini waxed" ...

some of the requirements are/were to refer to "pins" instead of "flags" ... "patrons" instead of "crowd" or "fans" ... stuff like that ... so it's no surprise that "bikini waxed" was frowned upon ...

That doesn't warrant a lifetime ban.
His ban should be reviewed. He'd give the tournament that Jenna said what it so desperately needs.
Tirico is good, but stick to MNF. Let Gary call the golf like the Good Lord intended.

guess the masters' folks don't see it that way ... can't remember, but someone referred to the crowd as a mob once (read it - i'm not that old) ... must've been a large crowd surging/running up the fairway after someone, the way it used to be in the british open ... want to say it was jack whitaker, who ended up at abc ... he wasn't allowed back ...

I was working a couple of tournaments a year (Sprint International & The Colonial) for CBS as a spotter when McCord made the comments. Being around Gary in the CBS compound it was not surprising that the body bag & bikini wax comments came out of his mouth.

It was Whitaker. He continued to refer to the spectators as gallery or spectators instead of patrons.

Ya see that, to me, is ridiculous.
People promoting the game as a profession, and they ban them for life.
I wonder what Gary does this week. I'm sure vodka plays a part.

For all our appreciation towards the National, make no mistake: They rule their world with an iron fist.

After I had worked the tournaments a couple of years for CBS and got to know CHuck Will, the Associate Producer who I was connected to via headset about working the Masters, he said no way. And it was because of the restrictions put on them by AN green jackets. That's why you don't see Feherty or Kostis in the fairways following groups.

cbs hated roberts ... absolutely hated him ... but he made the masters as much as jones ... jones got the golfers ... roberts made everyone involved put on the best golf tournament they could ...

Why no Feherty?
What'd he do?
What'd he do?

thought he was still there ...
