Boston College 18-7 (Miami led 12-7 and Boston College moved to the Miami 9 in the final minute before Ed Reed picked off a pass and returned it for a final TD.)

VaTech 26-24 (VaTech receiver couldn't hold onto a two-point conversion in the final minutes and then Ed Reed again picked off a pass to seal the victory.)

I agree with this. AND at the end of the year... LSU could have beaten Miami. And would heve DESTROYED NEB with no prob just like Miami.

@ At the box score at the bottom of the link, even IF Oregon could have pulled out a win against Miami, no way they rack up over 500 yards on that defense

2001-2002 right? Miami vs. Nebraska in the Rose bowl?

LSU beat Illinois in the Sugar bowl that year.

Tennessee was the 2nd best team that year and would have given Miami a better game. Too bad they were looking ahead to that game over LSU. That UT defense was beastly.

Best I have seen. Granted I didn't start watching till 95, and only saw one Nebraska game that year, and don't really remember much from that Gator beatdown

I actually think UF was the best team in the SEC that year. They still lose to Miami, but if they had beaten UT, I don't think LSU even keeps it close with them in Atlanta. Maybe my judgement is clouded on that by all the beatdowns LSU had received courtesy of Spurrier and UF

Extremely talented but the actual results were very underwhelming. The best team Miami beat that year was #8 Nebraska who got beaten worse the game before by Colorado.

I haven't seen anyone in my time that could touch them. I will give in to arguments for 95 Nebraska. 72 USC was before my time, so no clue. But 96 on I think they are the best. Then with a 2a,b,c 2011 Bama, LSU, and 04 USC(still would of liked to see them play Auburn.

That's always been the problem with 2001 Miami.

So much is based off of "the talent" and NFL careers and assumptions.

Their actual resume is blah. Would have been nice if Miami had played some bad arse teams that year.

The two deep on that 01 Miami roster was sick. Those RB's, Shockey and Winslow at TE. The defense

This is why I wonder why its a question about '95 NEB and 2001 Miami.
