I love that kygs is on a roll and alot of tennis twitter is melting down bc of it bc muh Federer and muh style and grace

Okay, so I know absolutely nothing about tennis.
I do, however, know that live betting on tennis is way way WAY more addictive than however addictive crack may or may not be, and also a good way to lose a sizable chunk of your account balance.
Alcaraz fricked me in the arse.
Daniil fricked me deeper in the arse.

I did a double take when I saw that scoreline.

He is absolutely nuts but no doubt one of the most entertaining to watch. I know he plays Baez in the opening round Tuesday but didn’t know he’d get Medvedev in Rd 2. That is a tough draw! Looking forward to those matches
Is Nick actually like legit turning a corner? Dude has always had more than enough talent. That was never the question.
But is now like figuring out how to use said talent to win tennis matches on a consistent basis at a high level?
Honestly, good for him if so.

I like watching him for his game. I don't hate him as a human being, but I don't think his personality is particularly endearing either. I just like the way he plays tennis.

Can’t decide between…
A) Alcaraz is finally hitting a bit of a wall
B) Sinner is sneakily becoming a top player
C) A little of both
D) It’s just 1 match and should be ignored
E) It’s hard court season… who cares?
F) None of the above
I'm bubbling in B. Sinner has legit game. His groundstrokes are literally the hardest on tour on both wings by average speed per shot. And he's steady to boot. He's not the athlete that Alcaraz is, but he's a legit top player.

He’s coming off an ATP tournament win at the Citi Open, not to mention the doubles championship to go along with it. And on one days rest is already 2 wins into the Canadian Open with a win over tournament fav #1 Med. he’s now the favorite to win this tournament too. Considering he just played in the final at Wimbledon this summer it’s safe to say he’s playing the best tennis of his life and he’s not even ranked right now.
I want to know how he fell off from being one of the youngest ever to be ranked in the top 20 6 years ago.

Not caring. I think it really is that simple.
I mean, he was asked after the Djokovic match if he would be back in the Wimbledon finals next year, and his reply was something like “Nah it’s too much work”. You know… things like practicing every day, preparing for matches, staying home instead of going out, etc.
But something did change with regard to his mindset recently. I think it’s the girlfriend if I had to guess the biggest factor.

Knowing him though, I think he was frustrated in the moment having just lost and was belittling himself. He blew a couple crucial games in that final up 40-0. I think he’ll be back and wins a major.

Agree. I’m leaning Wimbledon only for now until we see sustained progress.
The heat and humidity of NYC is a totally different animal than London.

Wish I saw there was another match tonight… would have played Draper to win the 1st set vs. Shitpants. Might look for a spot live.

Didn't realize this but I'm not totally shocked either. His ball striking is phenomenal and he hits a little flatter than most top players

I wouldn't have guessed it either. Maybe if i'd seen him play live I might have...can get a way better feel for hitting power live.
But dude cracks it on both wings. LINK
I still contend Alcaraz is the best under 23 guy on tour (and he's under 20), but I'd rate Sinner #2.

Dumb Montreal organizers tried to run five matches on the main court, starting at noon. Of course, RBA and Ruud went 2:30 to play two sets and now it's raining.
Posted on 8/11/22 at 3:58 pm to Bunk Moreland
Rain and tennis.. name a better combo.
These Masters events really should be a full 2 weeks, especially when a lot of players are also playing doubles.
Rafa’s playing Cincy.

Yeah, it just gets too bunched up if there is rain. I learned some hard lessons as a kid going down to Cincy and having sessions wiped out by weather. When I go to a tournament now, I'm grateful to see any tennis at all.
Swiatek is in a good match now. Ruud wins. FAA on now. Nick's match got moved off of the main court.

Anyone wanna take bets on Sinner starting at 9 pm? lulz
This Maia is apparently the truth. I need to take a look at her career. I’m guessing she has had injuries, because late bloomers like Stan are rare.
ETA: NK breaks in 1st game. Might as well skip to 2nd set.
