Another thing I didn't realize is that Bouchard has a way hotter sister who also appears to have gotten some vitamin D from Kyrgios.
She definitely does.
How much vitamin D we talking here?

I'm not scared of corona. If you aren't either we could get even closer than 6 feet -- I'm not talking spooning here or anything -- just saying.

Djokovic: US Open proposed protocols "impossible"
I actually agree with Novak on this one. There's no reason they can't bring their normal team with them.
I think the only question is whether there should be fans. I think there should be. Why do I think that?
1) For one, I think these coronavirus lockdowns are complete bullshite. NYC and parts of NJ were the only places where it made sense for ANY lockdown at all. Literally every other state or locality was doing it purely for the political PR and not because any data supported it. But even if you think an initial lockdown was warranted due to the unknowns, locking down longer than the incubation period plus a week to provide some leeway (so basically for a single month) makes literally no sense. At all.
2) NYC is downward-trending significantly on all metrics related to the coronavirus. At this rate, it will be of negligible concern come August.
ETA: here is deaths graph. Keep in mind this is for entirety of state, not just nyc.
3) Another "spike" would be impossible unless everything we know about how antibodies work is wrong. And everything we know about antibodies isn't wrong, to be clear.
4) They allowed this to happen, so they can go frick themselves with their social distancing arguments. frick themselves hard in the anus.

The tournament itself may be fine. But, if the only prep players have is a tournament the week before, it's going to be an ugly tournament. And playing RG a week later will be insane.

Every single pro is laughing at Djokovic and the others big 4 so hard. It shows how bullshite and inequitable the ATP is
Mike said it’s been a boiling point for others in your for a while, and Djok complaining about this has caused it to boil over somewhat
Djok and Nadal are mad because they can’t bring their entire team. They can only bring their coach. Apparently, that makes it “impossible”. Well geez Djok, now you will have an even playing field when you play the guy 40th in the world
That’s the one thing I always hated about pro tennis. In other pro American sports, the worst player has the same accommodations as the best. They both fly the same planes, have the same trainers, same practice times, etc
At the ATP, the top players have a monumental advantage. They have more trainers, more physios, they fly first class, they get longer time in the practice courts, etc

SOLID post. Sadly I think all of the major sports leagues are just not wanting to be the first to open back up at this point.

Sandgren is playing right now and I can't even figure out where or how to watch.

I see the tweet about the arthroscopic thing. Even without that, I could see him thinking there is no way he would have proper prep for the U.S. Open. Next year will probably be it.

Are Washington, Canada and Cincinnati still scheduled as is leading up to US?
Posted on 6/10/20 at 6:56 am to Eat Your Crow
Pride mentioned in another thread how Cincy won't be played there and they are just going to run it's equivalent the week before the U.S. Open at Flushing Meadows. I'm not sure about the others.

Washington said about a month ago that they plan on holding the tournament with some fans in attendance. Not sure if that's still current, though.

First tournament will be Cincy played at flushing meadows, followed by the us open with a full singles draw and 24 team doubles draw

I imagine the civil unrest in Washington is very much not helping
Why are they so against moving US Open elsewhere later in the year? Something in the contracts? You could play it in November in Miami or Indian Wells, right?

Miami is probably too difficult during football season since they basically use the stadium's parking lot to host the tournament. Indian Wells would be the way to go.

Crack I hope you’ll be on here for that WTA tournament coming up on June 23rd in South Carolina. Bethanie and Madison Keys are both captains. I’m still distraught over losing the French Open and Wimbledon. I’ve been watching Wimbledon on the 4th of July since I was four years old.

Nah no WTA for me.
Thiem can be found at 10/1 to win the Open. With Roger out and Novak/Rafa on the fence, that’s a good enough price to cover the risk of cancellation imo. And if it were to be moved to IW, he’s the last player to win there too.
