everything is purple except for the 7 on the chest which is in the shade.

well they did change LSU's official colors recently.
In both of these pictures our purple was more purple, and the gold was more gold than it is now. Today our purple is blue/purple, and the gold is brighter and more yellow. Then it was actually darker and more 'gold'ish.
ETA: It all happened when LSU introduced the new branding including the 'Geaux' font and toonces as our official logo. At that point our colors were 'enhanced' to be what they are today.

That crimson jersey of Alabama's gets darker once the players start sweating and it gets soaked; like anything else that soaks up water darkens.
Over the years our gold has gotten more bright, almost lemon yellow, from the older mustard/school bus yellow that's darker.

im not. the gold is 100% yellow (which i actually prefer). but if you think the purple is blue you're colorblind. im sorry to be the one to inform you of that.

it isn't blue. it is still purple, but it is a lot bluer than it used to be. i think thats all people are trying to say. it isn't pure purple like it was up until about 2000.
