And both relied on an absolutely elite defense and were basically game managers when they both won Super Bowls. You must have conveniently left out that fact.

Tell me what are you trying to accomplish with this post? One is arguably the greatest QB of all time with 2 SB rings, and one had 1 win and a subpar career. You are one stupid motherfricker.

That's Dilfers quarterback rating and Mannings QBR. Not the same stat

I'm sorry that posting statistics is so upsetting to you.

An undeserved one. Their defense held one of the greatest offenses in nfl history to a season low and were ranked #1 in the nfl.
In no way dod he deserve it.

There is no way Manning was worse than Newton today.

Manning had more yards than Brady in Brady's first super bowl and more yards than John Elway in his last super bowl. It is a team sport.

QBR was not even invented when Trent Dilfer won the Superbowl. They used quarterback rating.Trent Dilfer's quarterback rating was only slightly lower than Tom Brady's 2001 and 2003 season quarterback ratings. 86.5 and 85.9.

As opposed to Mannings 3 Superbowl appearances prior to this year.

2006 101.0, 2009 99.9,and 2013 115.1

It's obvious Brady was a game manager and was not the driving reason his teams were in the Superbowl early in his career he was a slightly better Trent Dilfer.

In the seasons where Brady was the reason his teams made the Superbowl he is 1-2 the same as Manning.

Those stats relating to the QBR make no sense at all.
For 18 years or whatever Manning's career was he always wore his team's w/l record in the playoffs as his legacy. People always wanted to discount him in the greatest discussions because of his playoff record when he never had much of a defense. Now that he won a SB with subpar play but with a great defense he shouldn't get any credit? I personally put him in the greatest ever discussion and he ranks at the top imo.

They keep changing the goal posts. His resume is better than anyone to ever play the position. 5 time NFL MVP with a few runner ups as well. Half of the seasond he was healthy in the NFL he was the MVP or runner up. He holds all the records for his position and has done it with multiple coaching staffs for two different franchises.

Then there is the eye test. He checks all the boxes including the eye test. Anyone that watched him in his Prime knows he is the GOAT. His 2004 Season is like a Bill Walsh how to video on how to play Quarterback. The greatest single season we will ever see from that position.

Why can't he be one of the best ever...(which he obviously is)...

...and people agree Manning was a major liability today.

If Denver lost, his D would rightfully had been mad as hell.
