Coach Sutherland used to be one of our coaches at Sulphur when I was a freshman. I thought he was a good coach at the time. Maybe he could be the one to bring back a championship.

they just need a HC that is not a idiot. They dont need an outsider...especially from Barbe, even though Demarie is a good coach. Dont need some WM coach either......

Not going to argue with most of your post, but I do know that he doesn't have a son. He has one elementary school daughter. She is an only child.

I have been a season ticket holder at sulphur high school since i graduated in 1979. I have seen many head coaches come and go. I think that coach Shannon Suarez was a hell of a good coach, sure his personality was like a rock but he was the one that started the winning tradition at shs. Coach Suarez didn't care who your daddy was nor did he care if your family had money or not, if your boy wasn't a good football player he didn't play. Unlike today it's all about who your dad is, what kind of favors your dad can do for me. It's a shame that things like this has taken the winning tradition out of sulphur high school. Sure Paul Bourgeois was the head coach when we went to the dome but as sure as he lead the team there he let the team down by starting a relative instead of going with the same quarterback that brought them there. The quarterback that he did not start was the one that lead them to a stunning victory @ West Monroe. So that lost goes to coach Paul Bourgeois. These past two seasons the football program was horrible. I saw in these past two seasons that players would try hard only to lose the game because of poor coaching. Anyone could coach against Paul Bourgeois all he did was run the dive left, dive right, dive up the middle and then punt. We were up by over 20 points against barbe going into the third quarter however Paul Bourgeois found a way to lose that game too. Several of the football players told me that Bourgeois let another coach call the offensive plays the first half but took over the play calling in the second half. Yes sulphur high is past due for a new head football coach. I also think that everyone on Bourgeois coaching staff should be fired also except for coach Duhon who is the best coach currently at sulphur high. Let me tell you where the principal will mess up... If he hires a new head coach that is currently on the shs coaching staff then again we will never have a winning season because it's a proven fact that coaches from sulphur can't win here. he needs to hire someone that's not from around here so that way favoritism would never take place. Lets throw the politics away and lets start the tradition again that we were known for across the state of louisiana for many of years "winning"..... please excuse my grammar i never was an english teacher, but i believe you get my point....
