Are we about to see a change in policies regarding tickets and the buyer/seller rights?
My X timeline is filled with people from all over who had purchased tickets to the World Cup on one of these sites only for the tickets to be pulled, not work, get resold, etc leaving them having to deal with possibly some of the worst customer service (StubHub is horrible after dealing with them multiple times).
Traveling and paying thousands only to not be allowed into the event you paid for has to absolutely suck. Many of these sites advertise "buyer protection" but apparently there are too many cases and people aren't able to get in contact with a representative to answer their questions.

These garbage companies were about to get the screws to them in that federal suit but ended up getting a softball settlement when the new admin came in

I sell more than most on StubHub, and the problem is that "Professional Sellers" will try to short the ticket market and "sell" tickets they don't have and then buy them cheaper than what they sell them for then deliver those tickets, and StubHub gives Sellers until basically the event time to deliver the tickets allowing this to market game to happen behind the scenes.
A potential fix is to require Seller's to deliver the tickets within "x" hours of the sale or else the sale is cancelled and the Seller has to pay a penalty. This works fine for people like me who transfer the tickets almost immediately.
A flaw to this is that some tickets are not transferable until well after the sale, a solution is requiring the above timeline from when the tickets are available to sold.
Its by no means a perfect system, but is being manipulated by bad actors who have no intention of playing by any set of rules.

My experience was buying tickets to a soccer match in London and never receiving the tickets by the match. The original email stated tickets would be delivered 24 hours prior to the event. Then I couldn't get in touch with an actual person until after th match started and they offered me replacement tickets in a different area and probably cheaper than what I had paid. When I declined the would only refund me 60% and I had to file a claim with Capital One about it.

I had multiple issues with StubHub not delivering on time (purchasing days before and getting tickets an hour before the game) or not sending the tickets to a correct email address. switched to game time. Night and day for me over the last 3-4 years. Haven’t had a single issue.
