Good stoppage. Silva had too much size and skill on the ground for anyone to survive an early mount by him in a round. I knew before it started Fedor might not get out from under a mount until the end of the round. When Silva mounted 5 seconds into the 2nd round, I thought he would lose. No way he was getting out from under that fricking giant (with skills).

Fedor is one tough SOB though. His face was destroyed and he was nearly choked out twice, then nearly heal hooked.

Glad they stopped it. That third would have been a disaster as Fedor would not have quit and he would have been destroyed.

ETA: Also, I think Fedor had the right game plan. He went for the KO early. Some of those punches just didn't have the effect they usually do. Silva's head is just a damn massive mass of thick caveman bone.

Fedor just mentioned retiring in his interview.
