Very possible. So If he wins this week, I guess Steve will have not made ANY impact????

Sure if Adam Scott wins it will only be bc Steve Williams is his caddie.

And if he loses what is your response?

Adam Scott was always trying to break through and all off a sudden he comes out and wins. He obviously did help but with that said Adam Scott played the golf but Stevie will bring him to new heights.

The people who say a caddie is inconsequential have never played at a high level.

And at the high level of the PGA most caddies are good.

People act like if Woods had fired Williams 10 years ago he would have replaced him with a dumb as shite tard like PJ.

Stevie is better than the caddie u find at some country club but he is not exponentially better than the other caddies on tour

In no way am I underestimating or discounting the value of a good caddie, but 2-4 shots per tournament is pretty high imo. They aren't right all of the time.

A caddys job is to shut up and carry the bag. If AND ONLY IF your golfer asks you a question do you give an opinion. Most of the time, just a yardage. No caddy in the world gives his opinion without being asked. The job is totally over-rated.

a. Do the work, know the yardages and greens.

b. When your golfer makes a decision back him up, positive feedback.

Thats about it!

Ok maybe my post in the other thread is better suited for this one...

quote:

Just now gettin in the thread but I've said it for years now; Steve Williams is a douche. He and Tiger were perfect for one another.

These comments just further prove that. Best week ever? Really you douche? Tiger won the event with you on the bag seven times? Have you forgot about the 14 majors? Yet the 8th time your golfer wins the BRIDGESTONE and it's the best? Aren't you married dude? I hope you don't have children because they now hate you.

Steve Williams. Get over yourself. Your a caddie. And by all accounts by other caddies on tour, your a bum. You knew you had the greatest talent evers clubs in your bag so you could be lazy and yet look great. Never do I refer to a caddie "winning" an event. The golfer won, you carried the bags. Nobody cares that your butt hurt over getting fired. It's life. Especially for a caddie. Luke Donald fired his own brother for gods sake!

Hey now it's not JUST this thread that makes me think you are dumb. This is an opinion crafted over TIME and multiple threads.

ETA Is ur name PJ? I thought it was Dukke V? I thought PJ was just an Internet meme for being really stupid and not making sense.

Like I said earlier, there are 1000s of quality "golf" people that could carry the bag and give good advice/insight. The golfer/caddie relationship is about trust and friendship. If that ends or changes then it is time to move on to another caddie (there are lots of quality guys that would be available to a PGA type player)

I agree that he is a caddie, but on the back 9 he talked Adam scott out of using a club and he went on the hit it stiff. Caddies make a difference. This is like saying what good is Nick Saban because he doesn't make a tackle.

They said on a golf channel that a caddie can make a huge difference one shot a round. Think about what 4 shots mean in a PGA tournament. Rememeber when Phil Mickleson lent Bones to John Daily for a tournament?

Why does it suck? He is the players coach during the match. He is playing strategy so the player doesn't have too.

This just isn't true their are not thousands of people who could do a caddy's job as good as a professional caddy. There are thousands of caddys in the world why do the pro's cycle through about 200 of them?

Saban recruits 17 year olds, trains and coaches them for multiple days a week, and on gameday has coordinators calling plays and 15 other coaches, giving instructions to 60+ players.

The level of involvement a caddie has vs the level of involvment for a college football coach is vastly different.

And Tiger couldn't have gotten one of those 200?

Ok then let's say he is just as valuable as a coach on gameplanning calling plays and half time adjustments.
