He is showing his ignorance on the issue. Caddies get paid a lot for a reason
I'm sure there are thousands of guys as capable as Stevie Williams to carry a bag and to assist a golfer. Tiger won a lot bc he was Tiger not bc of who he had on his bag.

That's funny coming from this board's biggest dunce.
That's not meant to be an insult. It's not even my opinion. It's a fact.

Obviously you are talking out of your arse again. Anybody that has ever watched or listened to Stephen A. Smith knows that he throws out the race card at ANY chance he can. He uses it as his shock factor.

Lee Trevino's take on the caddie's job description: "Show up. Keep up. Shut up."
Of course a caddie can help in many ways, but he's not a coach and he certainly doesn't make the shots. However much value Williams adds, it can't justify his turning Adam Scott's win into his personal drama over the breakup with Tiger. He should have talked about what a good job Scott did, how he feels honored to be picked up by a player of Scott's caliber, and refused to comment further. If I were Scott, I'd have another guy on my bag next week.

Paul Azinger didn't care too much for what Stevie did. Sounds like most of the other tour players would have a problem with it too.
“Steve Williams breaks the unwritten caddy rule, by talking to the press,” tweeted Azinger. “Most don’t, a few do at times when appropriate. #notapopularguy.”

Apparently yall are listening to a different person. He is equally hard on blacks as he is on whites. He is an unbiased journalist. He is no Jemele Hill or someone like that.

I'm fairly certain that if we took a board-wide poll to determine the board's biggest idiot, you would be in the top 3.
And I would vote you #1.

Lee Trevino was smart enough to get struck by lightning 126 times

I guess its just a difference on how we both listen to him.

I agree with you, but you still cannot deny the fact Steve was there for 12( not sure exact number?) majors. I'm not saying he had a huge impact, but he had an impact nonetheless. No matter how significant or insignificant, Steve was apart of it.
I do agree with you though, Tiger more than likely could have done that with someone else on his bag but you cannot be sure.

tiger has been winning since he was 3. he won the masters by 12 with Fluff. won 6 usga titles without Williams. impact of Steve was minimal.

You're only high by 125. He did, however, win 29 times on the PGA Tour, and 6 times in majors. But that's all beside the point. If you're right, you're right. And a caddie's job is to support the player who pays him. He failed that job with respect to two players in one 3 sentence interview yesterday. Almost as unlikely a feat as getting hit by lightning. Once.

I agree 100%. Very minimal, but the impact was there. Now, what Steve is doing at this point is completely unprofessional and plain arse idiotic. He needs to grow up.

I don't like defending Tiger bc I think he is pretty low on the "respectability" scale, but I know for a fact that Tiger worked his rear off practicing golf.
The reason he kept him on so long was bc he was his friend and he was comfortable with him and not bc he possessed some special "caddie skills". There friendship ended for whatever reason, so it was only logically that there business relationship would end since friendhip and closeness was such a big part of the business side of things.
