Boston had 107 pts in regular season . 107 wins every division except the one they were in.

By the time you get to this point in the playoffs, after a long season, the teams are beat up and gassed. They play a safe game, high and hard off the glass out, get the puck deep and bang, not a pretty and clean game like you see in tournaments like the Olympics.
Best round of hockey in the playoffs is Round 1. Teams are fresher and firing on all cylinders.
