Fleury. Dumb call to change goalies from a guy with a .930 save %. You get what you deserve when you do stupid shite.

Back to Murray and Pens in 7.

The good news is the Pens are still dominating 5v5 play and doing what they want with TB in their zone. Better team doesn't always win in hockey though.

Get back to Murray making a few more saves and head home for Game 7.

Oh the Pens have been resilient as any team in hockey this year, which is why I still feel really good about winning in 7 compared to teams of years past.

And as a hockey fan, I'd rather not watch a Western team roll TB in the Finals because those types of teams that get outplayed on a regular basis but "find a way to win" generally run out of such luck in the playoffs at some point.

I may need to perform a ritual and burn my Stamkos shirsey hanging in the closet, could be a factor.

Lightning have to be kicking themselves giving up these late goals.

Yeah, that almost cost the Lightning big time last night. This Lightning team just keeps amazing me though, but even with all that, they haven't won jack yet! Lots of Hockey left and that's why "The Cup" is the toughest Trophy to win in all of sports.

I really thought this Lightning team was done after so many crushing moments against them last night. They overcame things that usually bury teams, on the road non-the-less! When teams don't score after solid play during the 1st, while giving up a goal with .7 left during that same period. More than not, teams lose games after not taking advantage of good zone-time during any given period. Then the Lightning go down 2-0 after an early 2nd period goal by the Pens. The Lightning show serious grit and tied it up at 2-2, but that was short lived, they gave up another late goal, within a minute left, going down 3-2. Now when Callahan's shot wasn't a goal after looking like it was late in the 3rd. I sat down while lowering my head after just jumping up & down a few moments earlier and said....... "OK, that's it! No team comes back from that heart-breaker." That was just to much for any team to overcome but somehow this Lightning beat the odds and found a way. They'll need even more of that resiliency to reach the promise-land.

All I know is, Kucherov deserves a major pay raise when the season ends. Shoot, pay the man now! He's already earned whatever you give him after being so underpaid these past two years. The Lightning are blessed to have him.....

Go Lightning !!!!

Tell me about it. The hockey gods giveth, the hockey gods taketh. The Pens are essentially playing the inverse of their last series. They have the edge in the run of play, but they are losing on the scoreboard. The giant wheel of fortuna which had been spinning in their favor is now spinning in their disfavor.

I do have a hard time criticizing Rutherford for anything right now. He's pushed all the right buttons and he's keep the Pens on a huge run with what is literally an AHL defense plus Letang. These guys were mostly in the minors this year and have been pressed into service due to injuries, and have been playing great on the first exposure to the top levels. Rutherford gets lots of credit for that, as well as his decision to split Crosby, Kessel, and Malkin on to three different lines. Instead of having one awesome line and then a lot of chaffe, he's essentially given himself three 2L's which has worked well, especially since Crosby has been a spectator for most of these playoffs. His lack of production hasn't hurt them at all, and then, boom... he scored an OT gamewinner.

Yeah, he benched Murray for the famously erratic MAF, but the shine was beginning to come off of Murray. His save percentage was unsustainably high, and it was drifting back to earth. He wasn't the brick wall against the Bolts he was against the Caps. Still playing well, just not historically great, opening the door for the vet. And Rutherford has earned the right to make whatever call he wants on that, or any, front.

I'm just not sure you bench Murray to start MAF in a game 3 when he hasn't had a start since 3/31. The shine had started to come off, but it's not like he was Lehtonen-esque.

The Pens are playing good hockey. The Bolts are just playing awesome hockey. I wonder if Bill Simmons "ewing theory" is coming into play with the Bolts. At any rate, their shots are just more precise than the Pens.

The obvious question becomes: Who do you start in between the pipes for Pittsburgh?

The not so obvious is: IF Stamkos and Bishop are available for game 6, do you scratch them and keep going with what's working?

I think you start Stamkos for sure. There's no way even Stamkos at 80% isn't better than their 12th forward. Maybe not on the top line, but you play Stamkos. Goalie is tougher, but it's not like they are winning by great goaltending. I'd play Bishop if he's healthy.

Yeah, I'm not sure playing MAF was the right call, but I am saying that Rutherford has earned the benefit of the doubt. All of his moves have worked out so far, so he has wide leeway to say, "trust me."

Rumors are really picking up that Montreal is going to sign Shipachev. Top-6 center who scored 18 points in 10 games at the Worlds.

That late goal shite is frustrating, it cost the Blues the #1 spot in West, because of all of the late goals they give up. U knew, as soon as other team pulled the goalie, it would be tied within 30 seconds, and bang, tied up. It was a huge reason fans thought this team wouldn't go far, if you cannot finnish 1minute, how the hell u going to finish off 4 games per series.

I tell ya, this coach for San Jose is a little cry baby bitch. He expects 5-7 PP's a game, thinks he should be given them by refs. And cries about every loss. It's turning into Hitch vs The Bitch. Hitch just trolls him, while this guy cries.

I think this years NHL draft will be crazy.

A lot of rumors on top6 forwards and top4 dmen beng dealt.

Shattenkirk will be moved, and that is 100% a lock. They tried to move him near deadline, but couldn't fill their needs. They will know their needs after shite settles. Like to see them let Backes walk and make a trade for Simmons, he would be a leader they have never had, since Macinnis and pronger days.

There would be no reason to sign Shipachev to play on a 3rd line. That's not his game. So yes, he will get his NHL shot in someone's Top-6.
