Well, that was fun. And very un-Caps like in the fact they got some terrible calls and bad bounces go against them early, and they did not panic at all. They took it in stride, and eventually won out by playing their game. That third period was a clinic. In Game 1, they let the Lightning off the mat a bit. Last night, it was boot on the throat time.
Being Caps fans, we know how quickly this can go sideways. You gotta win Game 3 to put this one away. You lose Game 3 it sets up a Game 4 with no good outcome: either you lose and you've blown yet another 2-game series lead or you win, and you're at the dreaded 3-1 again. End it tomorrow. Go up 3-0 and snuff out any hope they have. Otherwise, the ghosts start to wake up.
What was so encouraging about the game is that everyone was the best version of themselves. Ovi and Kuzy were Ovi and Kuzy, Top Line Tom scored a goal and laid some wood, the second line was super dangerous all night and Eller filled in for Backstrom perfectly. Kempny was dangerous, Orlov as everywhere, hell... even Orpik was rubbing guys out on the boards. Jay Beagle was a shot blocking machine.
It was the Perfect Game. Now, two more of those. The Lightning are too good to lay down.

I actually watched the game Saturday night. First hockey game in years. Enjoyed the heck out of it.

An anonymous Tampa front office official told Arash Madani that Stamkos has no points at even strength and the team needs more from him...
Are you f'n kidding me?! The lightning have 4 goals and Stamkos scored 2 of them and assisted on a hthird. He's literally been involved in 75% of your scoring plays, yet you're leaking shite to the press to talk about how he's not pulling his weight? Gutless move by the front office.
There's a lot of reasons why the Bolts are down 2-0. None of those reasons involve Steven Stamkos. He's been Tampa's best player, and by a not insignificant margin.

Big game tonight. If the pegs win tonight, I can’t see Vegas winning the race to 4 down 2-0.

Lol losing the 2 first away games is by no means a nail in the coffin... The caps winning their 2 first away games pretty much is though.

They’ll crank it up here. This is so awesome how they get into this.

I was looking for a specific book or whatever. That's actually really good.
