This is to the person who made the commit about MADD and for anyone else who feels as he did -

When one get's behind the wheel of a motor vehicle after drinking, they obviously have no regard for their own life, or any other human life. When you drive under the influence, you doing a selfish an idiotic thing because you could easily take the life of an innocent person. MADD is a great organization made up of people who have lost loved ones because some freaking idiot decided to drive drunk. This country would be so much better off with a prohibition; there is no good whatsoever that comes from alcohol and it would be absolutley wonderful if it was illegal for anyone to drink alcohol in the U.S.

Tee-hee. Prohibition went so well in the 20's. I am sure it could be controlled now. I hope you were using sarcasm.

No i'm not kidding - alcohol does nothing but cause people to do stupid things, like taking the life of another human being. I know that prohibition wouldn't work today bc the greedy government wants the tax on alcohol. However, there is nothing that is more dumb than people who drink alcohol, knowing that negative things like what happened to Stallworth could very well happen to them.

Just because you and some other people are too stupid to know the difference between right and wrong while drunk, doesn't mean everyone is that stupid.

There is no such thing as a right or wrong when drunk. When drunk there is nothing but wrong. And i'm not stupid and don't know what to do when drunk. I choose not to drink bc I understand the consequences it could have. Everyone thinks that they are above something like this happening to them; they think they are responsible enough to handle themselves when drunk. However, this is not the case. It is that arrogance and pride that results in hundreds of innocent people dying each year.

That is where your argument is lost. Accidents happen whether or not alcohol is present.

Has got to be. I can understand and do respect when someone chooses to live alcohol free, but I draw the line once they start preaching to others about it.

Dude, seriously, shut the frick up. I am responsible enough to handle myself while drunk as are most other people.

You don't drink because you understand the consequences it could have?

So you don't eat any fatty foods cause it could have the consequence of you having a heart attack?

Do you not drive at all because you could get in a crash?

I've had two family members killed by drunk drivers, so don't give me your holier than thou bullshite cause you choose not to drink and I do cause I'm responsible enough to take care of myself and others around me.

I'm not giving anyone any holier than thou because I am not holier than anyone. I mess up everyday and I am willing to admit that. I'm not saying that I'm holier than thou bc I don't drink; I'm just saying that it is sad that so many people die every year bc someone made the decision to drive drunk. It blows me away that people see the affects of drunk driving all the time, but still continue to do it. And i don't buy the argument that people can be responsible when drunk, because i'm sure that everyone who has ever gotten behind the wheel drunk thought the same thing.

I'm not holier than thou, I'm a sinner just like everyone else who is saved by the grace of God. However, I have seen the affects that alcohol and drinking and driving can have on an individual and it is unbelievable to me that people do not care.

And Klaus, I'm not preaching to others at all - I am simply stating facts about the negative consequences of alcohol and how people seem to ignore them.

And not everyone who drinks has gotten behind the wheel drunk, me included. So for you to group anyone who drinks into the group of drunk drivers is ignorant and wrong.

I understand that people may drink who have never gotten behind the wheel while drunk like yourself, and that is great. I'm not saying that people like yourself or not smart enough to do the right thing or make smart decisions. BUT when people have been drinking, the alcohol causes them to think irrationaly and make bad decisions that they wouldn't make when sober. This is how good, respectable people who have a few harmless drinks end up destroying their lives. Because they were impaired, they make one bad decision that they wouldn't usually make, but that one decision can cost them their life.
