The Knicks have only mattered for like a season and a half since then though

And there had been Spike. Paying for court side. Supporting his team.

I was just saying, if he was as important as you guys are saying, then why do y’all keep referencing something from 25+ years ago?

Is he relevant to Knicks history? Yes.

Is he at all “valuable” to the Knicks present day? Doubtful.
The Knicks derive zero value from him, IMO.

Because no other super fan of a team inserts themselves constantly into team business and games, etc. Spike is nothing more than a distraction to that franchise.

Really it's because he's famous, high-stakes playoff game, Reggie's a top trash talker, and Reggie proceeded to go HAM on the Knicks that 4th quarter, helps that Spike's an outspoken person as well when it comes to his favorite teams, legendary homer

I actually disagree in terms of his contribution to the Knicks brand, he's basically essential to the MSG experience like celery and a side sauce with buffalo wings you cannot have a Knicks game in MSG without Marv Albert and Clyde Frazier calling the game and Spike Lee attending courtside, you just can't he's integral

The Ash Wednesday mass that I attended had no homily. But you may have a point. As my cousin who is a priest once told me, “my homily is the least important part of the mass”.

ETA: anyway, I’m done arguing over this stupid shite. The Knicks are irrelevant

So basically he’s the non-essential part of the New York Knicks.

It seems to me like they asked him multiple times to use the VIP entrance and not the employee entrance. Don’t know why he feels as if he should get special treatment.

Wouldn't you want people to see you go through a VIP entrance instead of an MSG employee entrance anyway???

Aren’t there suites in MSG ? Why isn’t Spike up there enjoying wine and food and hot women ? Does spike go to away games too ?

How is somebody so successful in business so bad at business?

Spike Lee seems like an insufferable douche, but if you're Dolan you should put up with it because it's harmless. In exchange you get a hip famous super fan that your players look up to.

Spike Lee went to high school in Brooklyn, so it'll be hilarious if he says "fuggit I'm a Nets fan now."

It’s not tough to make money when you own the Knicks

Doubt that. No one is Nets fan. Not even people that work for them
