I always tell myself I'm going to learn sign language, seems quite rewarding to be able to include people into more things. Things like this show why more people should.

Not sure why but sports stories with kids with needs always get me.

This is the second one this week that made me tear up. On MNF they did a story on the Jags DE son who HAD cancer. Keyboard warriors were talking shite about the DE missing the Jags last game last year, meanwhile he was with his son during his first operation for treatment. Onions.

She's a very sweet woman. Made that kid genuinely happy.

My wife knows ASL because of her deaf brother, and when she was bartending, deaf patrons would get so happy to be able to order in sign. Needless to say she would get tipped very well, and it's actually a great way to get an order in at a busy bar.

In the early 1900s, the NY Giants had a deaf pitcher called "Dummy" Hoy. Many of the team learned to sign and they would often signal each other that way.

Awesome to see this interaction. My family gives a scholarship at TSD (TN) each year, in honor of my great aunt who was a student there and was a member of the first Senior class.
My father told me her father always said the most difficult thing did in his life was put her on a train from Tullahoma to Knoxville each year so she could attend school.
After she graduated from TSD, she moved to Detroit and excelled working in Awrey’s Bakery, which was known for hiring people with disabilities.
