Because soccer is more popular than baseball and softball in most places.

Why is the existence of soccer fields and the lack of a baseball/softball sports complex an indictment on soccer? There's plenty of space in Ascension. I do agree that there should be a complex like that in Ascension and it does make you wonder why one hasn't been built.

We played soccer there a few weeks ago and every field was occupied all day.
