hard sell for me. van basten predates me, and i only know him from youtube videos, but ronaldo (and still, as a fatass after 27 knee surgeries, just hangs around and scores goals) had a ridiculous eye for goal. easily the best pure striker that i've ever seen. you can't really break the shite he did down into single techniques. he was just that kind of player. you know, hitting a ball in stride with his toe during the world cup or shitting on united (including many players that had won the tournament before) in a champions league match-up are not things that you can easily break down.
