If Dri Archer wasn't playing for a Mac school he would be invited to New York.

FBS = FCS? Idiocy, you has it.

Baylor was a national title contender last year? Florida was one in 2007? News to me.

somehow you people are trying to dwindle what has been a great season by Teo. He's 2nd in the whole nation in INTS. I mean come on!

And David Amerson had 13 ints last year. Your point? Besides, Te'o is tied with a guy who still has two games left to play. He gets picks, but he doesn't get any sacks or TFLs. You know, things that great linebackers actually get.

BCS school means they play on a team that is actually eligible to play in the national title game.

I didn't say they had to play on a contender. Idiocy, you haz it? or you just can't read. 2nd time in the last 2 pages you've put words into my mouth.

Amerson was a defensive back.

I don't care who he is tied with. 6 INTs for an LB is amazing. WHether he is 2nd in the nation or 10th in the nation or 15th in the nation. It's irrelevant .

This is what you said you idiot. I have no idea what the hell your point is with the following statement and I suspect you don't know either because you got called out and now are trying to talk yourself back rather than admit that you goofed. Man up, admit you were wrong, and move on.

You said they had to be a team that can play for a national title. That means they are a national title contender. Just because you are in a BCS conference doesn't mean you are a national title contender. That's like saying Kentucky has a better shot at a national title than say Boise State or Lousiania Tech. You are willfully ignorant if you believe that shite.

quote:

Amerson was a defensive back.

And you know how many other defensive backs in the last 5 years have a had more than 10 ints in an individual season? Zero. Rahim Moore is the only guy to reach 10, but no player in the country has intercepted more than 10 passes in a single season in the last 5 years other than Amerson. There have been at least 5 linebackers in the last 5 seasons with at least 6 ints. Te'o isn't doing anything spectacular whatsoever. Literally nothing. Absolutely nothing about his numbers or performance say anything remotely close to Most Outstanding Player of the year.

guys on teams that can actually win a national title or a Heisman= guys at BCS schools. AKA schools eligible to win a national title. AKA guys from schools who 99% of the time win the heisman.

HOw many non BCS schools do you know of that have ever won a national title?

You said they had to be a team that can play for a national title. That means they are a national title contender

no it doesnt.

Can Baylor play for a national title on a given year? Yes.

Can Utah St or Air Force academy play for the national title on a given year? No

yeah!!!! well no LB has 6 IINTS in a given season that is Samoan, has an apostrophe in his last name, and plays for a BCS school than Te'o.

honestly, this discussion was fine until you started putting words in my mouth and making up milestones that fit your argument.

Amerson had a good year last year. He didn't play for a great team though and got lost in the shuffle. That happens on the reg. Te'o is on a high profile team and is having a high profile season. He's almost certain to be at the ceremony

Let's see what Tajh Boyd does against South Carolina bc if he has a big game he jumps way up on the radar for the Heisman.

To start... Boyd is 2nd in the nation in efficiency, has more passing yards, more tds, better team record, and with a win against SC next week could have his team ranked higher.

1. Tajh ain't doing shite against us. 2. He's nowhere near Most Outstanding.

I don't doubt that as I am an SEC fan and have seen SC play, but if he does come out and play well he should no doubt get a trip to NYC.

If A&M would have beat Bama earlier in the year and then had a game late in the season like he did against LSU his Heisman chances would have dropped big time, but since they beat Bama after his awful performances against Florida and LSU it is a different story.

Manziel is second in the nation in total offense. In the SEC. With a victory over the number one team in American. On the Road. With a new head coach.

Most. Outstanding. Player.

What does this matter? Also has 2 losses at home against teams that weren't number 1.

And Boyd is very close to him at 7th.

I was just making a point that his statement about a road win against Bama can be countered with the fact that they lost 2 games at home.

Clemson should work the Cocks so you never know. But Manziel has been more impressive in my eyes

JFF already has accomplished the 3,000/1,000 year...with games left...in the SEC

if he doesn't win it, then the Heisman means nothing now

Manziel is definitely very impressive and has proven it against top competition, but if (and I mean if) Boyd can show up and put on a show against a very good SEC next week then he should be considered.
