I don't get the opinion that it failed. There won't ever be a system where a team doesn't get shafted. There as no such thing as a perfect system. The playoff is better than the previous format. PSU shouldn't have lost two games.

Can you imagine the SEC champ not getting into the playoff?
So if Florida won, you would have had them in?

Let me preface this by saying I am not a Penn state fan.

They got fricked. Simple. They have two losses but had to play one extra game, won their conference, and beat OSU is doing so.

One loss to Pitt who beat fricking Clemson.

This is horseshite.

You can't just hide behind "they're the conference champions" when the two best teams reside in the opposing division and have fewer losses.

It doesn't mean much in this case. Penn St was better that day vs Ohio St. Inferior teams can luck up and beat a really good team from time to time. If they play 100 more times Ohio St wins most of those. Everyone knows this. If Penn St were a better team they wouldn't have 2 losses. Do we want the best 4 teams or do we want the conference champions? Conference championship games are a joke in the first place, just a pure money grab.

Yep. Penn State beat one playoff team, OSU, and lost to a team that beat another playoff team, Clemson. Amazing they're not in it.

I have NEVER said they would NOT get in.... I just don't think they deserved to... But its whatever.. They should have been dropped to 4 BUT the NCAA is ALL about ratings....... They are praying they DON'T have A rematch.... The refs will be real HEAVY on the Buckeyes side in the Clemson game... But that's fine with me... Bama will beat OSU.....

Ohio State should have beaten the Big 10 champs, but they didn't.

OSU barely lost to the big ten Champs.

The big ten Champs had two bad losses

I'm not saying that you don't have an argument, but every year there will be an argument for one(maybe more than one) team that got left out. It will never be a perfect system.
